Tuning issue HELP!

I recently did a pi swap into a 96 gt that i bought with no engine. The car has a stock mass air meter and when i took it for a drive the car feels like it doesnt go anywhere when i hit the gas in the high rpms....can a tune help this or do i have to just get a new meter and calibrate it? oh yea i have a sct chip sitting around and i was wondering if there was anywhere i can send it in to just get it burned and for how much? thanx!

it should be driveable and pull hard without a tune, I would test your fuel presure and after that look at the maf.

well i bought a used maf and it says 98 on it and the car is a 96 and i dont think that should matter but maybe its just not good....maybe i should just buy a c&l meter or something?

I would definetly try to make the ford maf work before going aftermarket.

there are different calibrations for mafs.. I would go to a ford dealer and have them cross referance that part number..

is this 98 maf the one on the car when it ran badly?

the 98 maf is the only one thats been on the car since i put the engine in so i dont know if its bad needs to be calibrated or i just need a tune to fix it
