I plan to do some basic mods to my 1994 GT convertible this winter. They will include gears
, long tube headers, H pipe with cats, and a cold air intake. I already have a cat back (Flowmaster Am. Thunder).
My question is, should I plan on getting a good dyno tune after this rather basic stuff? Or can the stock computer/tune handle this level of mods without leaning out?
I do plan to get a good dyno tune eventually. But that seems to stretch the budget a bit (~$650 with dyno time and a custom burned chip). So I would like to delay it a bit, if that's safe to do.
Better yet, if I can delay the tune a year, then maybe I can get the intake done before then too, and save on some tuning rework.
Appreciate your opinions, and let me know if you have done similar mods without a tune successfully.
