tuning question

i've been searchin around and i've had about 10k answers so hopefully someone can clear it up.

can a stock mustang ecu be reprogrammed without any chips or tuners? or is one or the other necessary to make any adjustments at all? some guy i know claimed a shop dyno tuned his car without him buying a chip or tuner...

Yes, you can direct flash any Ford processor from '96 and up IF you have the right software and equipment. Few dealers do, but some do. Also '05 and up Mustangs can use HP tuners, which is a direct flash.

Never hurts to have an SCT or the like though, so you can change it at will.

yeah, but if the tuner does a good job i cant think of anything i'd need to change randomly... unless i change gears or something
