I'm stationed overseas in the military and they don't have the tunning shops the states do. I have a 2000 Mustang GT and have every bolt-on from timing adjuster and 4.10 gears to BBK long tube headers/ H-Pipe and borla catback. What would be the best way of putting a new tune to my motor with all these mods. I don't plan on any new mods, thanks.

You could get an SCT dealer to make you a custom tune, and do it by mail.. but you'd have to provide them with all your mods, and probably a dyno run so they know whether you're rich/lean.

Otherwise, you could use a handheld tuner like the xcal, and have them do a custom tune for you.

Yours is a perfect candidate for a mail order type tune - you could either get an XCal 2 or a chip.

The XCal 2 holds 3 tunes, has datalogging, reads and clears trouble codes and allows you to do some minor tuning adjustments with Xtreme tune. If you get it from us, we include a custom CD with your tunes on it and all the programs that you'd otherwise have to download from SCT, plus I have an exclusive item an owner's manual on the CD that I developed for SCT, but they decided not to use. They are $379 + Shipping

I also have (one only) the newest XCal 2 the XCal 2 SF, which comes preloaded with tunes for a number of vehicles. It allows on screen tuning, datalogging with a laptop and SCT promises soon it will have on screen datalogging, scanning and clearing DTCs. It lets you setup/adjust the following items: 87 Octane, 91 Octane, 93 Octane, Economy, Speed Limiter, Idle Drive, Idle
Neutral, Shift Point 1-2, Shift Point 2-3, Shift Point 3-4, Shift Firmness 1-2, Shift
Firmness 2-3, Shift Firmness 3-4, (shift itewms are for autos only) Rev Limiter, Cooling Fans, Spark 0 - 2000,
Spark 2000 - 4000, Spark 4000 - 8000, WOT FUEL, Axle Ratio, 24lb Injector, 30lb
injector, 90mm Lighting MAF, Big Air 2400, PI Cylinder Heads (’96-98)injector, 90mm Lighting MAF, Big Air 2400, PI Cylinder Heads (’96-98). It too is $379 + shipping.

A chip holds one tune for $269 or 4 for $25 more with a switch cable + shipping. The switch cable changes the chip to a 4 program chip that'll hold 4 tunes.

Please email me if you have any questions.
