Here is the deal I just bought a FRPP long block fms-m-6007-x302b to replace my turboed stock blocked combo that gave up. So here is the question, for the time being I only want to make about 450hp. My last combo made 500hp/560ft#. It was a 302 with TFS heads, intake, f303 cam and 7#s from my turbo. The new motor comes with a b303 which is no good for boost so, I am either going to run a stock cam or an f303. The long block is a Boss block, 302CI 9:1, gt40x heads with pedestal mount rockers 1.6, and I will be running a TFS intake. And my Hellion kit will be in charge of the pressure. Just looking for opinions for some turbo guys on which cam they would run stock or f303. I am thinking that the f303 will take less boost to make 450hp but the stock will be smoother and amke all the power at a lower rpm? Does the stock cam have enough lift I will be running the 1.6 rockers.? Any ideas.

I'd run the F303 over the stock piece.... Seen the F303 support over 800hp with a 80mm turbo

Yeah I am leaning toward the f303. I have it already, and while I have concidered a custom grind I am not trying to squeeze every once of power out of it yet. ANd I think I'll be fine with one of the two I already have. Will there be any problem with running the pedestal mount rockers with the f cam. I read where they where good to .550 lift but I have never run them before always had Gold crane stud mount. Called ford tech line and they said they didn't THINK that there would be any v to p issues either.

O.K. Got the motor here. Looks pretty good. I put the f303 in and am running it right now with an explorer intake NA right now. Want to break in the engine for a while as well as the clutch ( don't have it yet) before I put the turbo on and tune it. Can't decide now on what intake to run. I was wanting a box upper for the explorer/gt40 lower but all if the ones I found so far are expensive. I can buy a new intake of my choice for the price. So any suggestions? Looking at Victor 5.0 but it might be too much intake.... Any intake will work with the turbo its all about where my max torque is made rpm wise. want to do it near the top.
