Okay I just searched some questions I had on the turbo coupe rear ends and had a few spots I wasn't clear on.

I am probably getting a 93 Mustang Convertible here next week, and want to make it four wheel disc with the 3.73 gears so Turbo Coupe is the way to go. The car I have now is what I plan on swapping everything over from, but my rear end was very badly put together.. Crappy welds, leaks at the welds and seals cause the previous owner messed it all up.. ANYWAY, my question was that I have all my brakes from a 2001 Mustang GT, PBR's up front, and just the basic rear disc brakes. Are the 01 Gt rear calipers better than the Turbo coupe rears? And if they are, can I just use the brackets I'm using on my car and just bolt them up to the Turbo coupe rear end and all good to go, or do I need to get all different axles and everything than the sn95 axles that Jrich says to use, along with the Mazda rotors.

Just getting my list together of what all I want to get to make this car go together smootly later on..

I like the TC rear rotors better because they are a vented rotor. Less fade. If you go that route shoot me a PM, I have some zinc plated slotted rotors with MM spacers I'll put on you cheap. I bought two sets of rotors and 4 spacers, and apparently I will never drive my car enough to wear the rears out....or the fronts. :(

I have a Tcopue rear in my 93. What you need to do is swap everything since you are 5-lug. just take the brackets, calipers, axles, everything from the rear in your car to the tcoupe rear. the axles on the tcoupe rear are longer, but that is to accomidate the ABS tone ring and the vented rotors. I have ranger axles and 98 grand marquis discs in the rear of mine.

Hope that helps!

Nitpicking the rear brakes here is not going to make any noticable improvement. I would go with a factory rear brake setup over a modified set anyday. At the end of the day, with the MPV rotor you aren't going to notice anything really. The standard GT rear disk is plenty powerful on a light Fox mustang. Unless you plan on road racing or autoXing will the vented vs solid rotors physics come into play.

Plus, SN95 parts are cheap and plentiful, TC stuff is harder to come by.

I saw stick with what you have and sell the TC brake stuff for a little profit.

Okay so the brackets for my rear discs should just bolt directly onto the TC rear end? I don't have to rear end yet so I can't just go and try it myself. Also i'm not sure what axles I have atm.. any way I can tell? I want to get new ones though cause mine are wore down pretty good from the bearing through the hardened part.

So basically ill be able to just take all my brake stuff off the rear end I have now and it should bolt on directly to the TC rear end? Just want to make sure I get everything I need :)

Well, do you have a 2001 axle? Or was it the priginal axle with the 2001 brake parts bolted in??

If it's the original axle, just swap everything over. If you have the 2001 axle, you'll need to find 94-98 SN95 axles and swap the brakes over

I am almost certain it is the original axle cause the rear disc have a bracket welded, then the caliper bracket bolts to the part he welded to the axle dude, which he did an extremely crappy job of. So I am almost certain the axle housing is the original cause it also has the 2.73 gears unless the 01 GT's came with those also.. I think all that are from the 01 are the calipers and caliper brackets.
