Turbo for 2.3

Is there a turbo that will fit a 93 Mustang with a 2.3 4cyl engine? This is my first mustang and my first 4cyl car and I want power cuz i'm used to v8 cars.

You have to swap in a 2.3L turbo if you want it to make any power.

So i have to get a new engine to make any power... that blows. I was hoping to be able to bolt on some power and keep good gas mileage without goin bankrupt

a turboswap is not expensive at all. all you need is the engine, ecm, vam and pigtail from a wrecker and it's a very easy swap to do. it took me less then an 8 hour day at work to do mine.

where can i find one? Like i said i work with N/A V8s and this is all new to me but I want to work on a 4cyl turbo car and see how well i do

Keep an eye out at your local JY, ebay, the classifieds, and turboford.net for an engine / donor car.

Another 100 hp and stock 5.0 territory with just a swap, and not a lot of money in it.

Usually the engine can be had for a few hundred bucks on Ebay, just watch the shipping rates (or find an auction local to you), most junkyards have some kind of price list so you can check with them and from turboford.org it just depends what you're getting with the motor.

You can also go on http://www.car-part.com and search for engines at wreckers. My work as well as many others have all their stock on that database.

my whole car(88 stang) has under 1000 bucks in it and thats including the car. (By the way ive got everything needed to swap. A few computers, complete motors(minus turbo) browntops, etc..... in richmond va.) Back to the point, ive Outrun many gt's and every v-6 that tries, love to eat hondas. Best bang for buck that ive ever dealt with and extremely easy to maintain and fix when u do break it.

most i ever paid for a motor was $400 and that was the first one i bought, last thing i bought was an entire86 t/c for 100 bucks. ometimes u get lucky

Typically the shipping costs more than what you'll be paying for the engine so check your local sources (junkyards, classifieds) before having one shipped from out of town.
Brown tops are the fuel injectors for the engine (I believe the brown tops are rated at 35lb/hr). "Brown tops" just refers to the actual part which literally has a brown top.

There were other "tops" which were rated at different fuel flow levels as well.

correct me if iam wrong could he just pull the motor out, swap the head and pistons for ones ment for a turbo.

go to a junkyard get the upper and lower intake,turbo mani.
tap the block for turbo oil lines. buy a turbo, ecu and vam.

i've been looking for you. (without actually knowing that you existed) to eplain that better; i'm looking to buy a 4 banger with intent to do a 2.3T swap. i've been researching quite a bit on building a N/A 2.3 and have found that the turbo swap is the best (cheapest) way to go. i'm near you, (VA Beach) and would definitely be interested in dealing with someone who obviously has experience with this swap. and you seem to be that person. so, if you have any advice, helpful hints, or parts that i would need to do this, i'd be more than grateful. thanks.
