i am thinking of going with a single turbo set up on my car. the question i get mixed opinions about is the actual routing of pipes. see the question i have is if i only do a single turbo, can i use just one side of the engine, or do i need to run both sides through the turbo. i have heard it will be fine, just spool up a little slower, then i hear the uneven pressure from side to side would be hazardous for engine longevity. can anyone help me out with this. basically what i am asking is if i can run a set up similar to a twin turbo set up, one header per turbo, only not run the other turbo. one side be like factory and the other side be ran through a turbo.

First mac man why would you want to work one side of your engines more than the other creating uneven back pressure. You have to run the turbo off both side of the engine. Then there will be a Y-pipe from your turbo exhaust (downpipe) to your current H or X pipe. But it's better to use a Longtube header H or X pipe for better fit.. hope this helps..

redsnake...thats exactly what i was trying to find out. i was unsure of it and had heard mixed opinions on it. from a fabrication standpoint it would be easier to do, and i wanted to know if it was safe or not, before doing that. u answered my question perfectly.
