I've been thinking about picking up a later model 2.3 5spd. (90-93ish) and putting a turbo setup in it. I have seen a lot on the TC engine swaps and whatnot but is it feesible to just put a turbo on the motor and tune it with it's current computer? I ask this because I like the mass air system and feel it's better than the vane system the SVO's and TC's use. Please correct me if I am wrong here. I would definately freshen up the bottom end with some forged gear. Also with the heads, I know that there was a dual plug head, now I would rather have the single plug head on there, does anyone know what years or whatever that the dual plugs came in? Any input would be awesome. I am relly looking for an 86 SVO, but those seem to be extremely hard to find in the condition I want around here. Also some good sites with info would be great too. thanks! I am determined to beat my buddies at their own game in their SRT-4s and WRXs

WAY more trouble than its worth, the TC engine swap is the cheaper, easier and better way to go.

Yes it can be done, Feasible no. As quick said the TC swap is much easier.

As for the DP head they came on 91-93 2.3 mustangs. If you want to ditch the DP head you also have to ditch the MAF and The DIS ignition.

Check out this link for the MAF Turbo setup.www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/turboinstall.html

You can always do the regular LA3-computered standard turboswap and then get an EEC tuner later on. That'll let you run a MAF. Probably more trouble than it's worth, though.
