Turn Signal Cam - now no blinkers

I need a bit of guidance. I pulled my steering wheel off yesterday and replaced the plastic turn signal cam thingy. I cut the wires off close to the old one and soldered the wires to the new one, then put it all back together, but with my usual luck, I now have no turn signals at all. I tiried adjusting the wire leads on the back to make sure they connect with the contacts, and I think they are OK, but I have nothing.

Suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

I tried to find the flasher but for the life of me, I can't find it. ( this is a 67).
All 4 lights work with the emergency flashers, so I am assuming that is OK anyway??????

I pulled the dash pad off and the guage cluster and I was able to find both flashers. I replaced them, but still no blinkers. I'm just going to take your advice and replace the entire switch in the column.
