Tweecer or AEM ?

I just finished my engine project on my 94 GT Auto and needless to say my stock computer is not happy. I have a SCT racer package, but it has not worked as well on this car as it did on my 03 GT. I want to make real-time changes without have to pull the chip and reburn it.

Thanks

Scott

I have a 95 Cobra that I rebuilt. Since I do all the work on my car I figured I'd do all the tuning myself. I am slowing but surely getting the hang of my TwEECer. The TwEECer allows you to tune areas that other tuners can't and allows realtime datalogging. I've been able to tune the car for drivability and have recently began tuning for more power. I don't know much about AEM and can't provide any input. But more peeps will chime in and give you more detailed information.

The tweecer is most popular since its relatively cheap and can do A LOT. I like the PMS since its cheap and leaps and bounds easier to use than a tweecer.

Im pretty sure the AEM is even more advanced than the tweecer. It has traction control doesnt it? Its one of the most expensive tuners out there but if u find a good deal on one or want tospend the cash, im sure you cant go wrong.

My vote still goes to the PMS:p

it depends what you want to do, by the looks of your car  (no data) a tweeker or PMS will do fine but if you ever want to go really advanced then the AEM or my choice FAST would work better, they are stand alone systems that dont "piggy back" your stock computer.

Just a thought here. Sometimes easier is not always better, just easier. Sometimes more is better just not easier. Just One Man's Opinion. Peace

Thats true but when comparing a tweecer and PMS...a PMS will get just as good of tune as a tweecer. The only thing it cant do is turn off egr and adjust the fan settings which can be easily done by another option.

I should have added that the PMS is leaps and bounds easier and will tune the car just as well as the tweecer.

Thanks for the replys and welcome. I will get my specifics listed. The engine is a 342 with the TFS track heat kit on top and 30lb injectors. The reason I have not looked into the PMS is that the car is an AODE and I need to set the shift points and other tranny stuff. I think that the PMS will only control the engine. I really only need to do the basic tuning. The Idle is first on the list. I use the car for bracket racing and it backs up my 03 daily driver. I have no trailer, so it has to stay streetable. The chip is a pain to do the trial and error thing with. I want something that can stay in the car and I can check out what is happening as I try stuff. I already have an LM-1 wb.

Thanks again,

Scott

Sorry for the delay in my posts. I used to hang on the other nets, but came back to the best. :SNSign:

Thanks for the help, it looks like it will come down to money. I will let you know what gets approved.

My tweecer got my 418 running. Once I get my wide band I can get my target a/f ratio.

Figure a tweecer r/t costs $550. 1 wide band costs $200 and the ea software costs $50 and it is well worth it.

wich one are you talking about?? AEM or Tweecer (for the ones who dont know reading this). If your talking about the tweecer...the other option is as simple as entering it into the scaler.

Also the PMS does not have controle of the MAFtransfer from what I recall...and after seeing time and time again the importance of this ability...to me this is a HUGE issue with the PMS...read HUGE.
