Today was to be the day I started the engine. Things were going well. I had The JME dash in, the "no-spark" problem fixed,( bent over coil terminal), and the staitic timing set at 8 BTDC. I started filling the radiator and I noticed drips from under the engine. Then, I noticed I had drips on both sides. It looks like the water is comming from the junction between the head and block. It was dripping at a good rate from both sides. I thought I had forget to plug something but everything looked OK. The head gasket is allowing water to seep out along the head. I can't figure out what has gone wrong. There was no pressure on the water side. I'm postive I put the head gaskets in correct and torqued the bolts properly.

Guys, I'm stuck on this point. I drained the block to prevent any water from getting into the oil until I figure out what went wrong. All ideas would be most welcome. I quite bummed right now.

Thanks,

Eric

I'm not sure on the Mexican block but the later 5.0 blocks need thread sealer on the outboard head bolts. Might try this to see if it works. Other than that, your O rings may be too thick and they're not compressing enough to let the rest of the gasket to seal.

Did you use hylamar or any thing to seal water jackets ? The rings will keep the water out of the cylinder. But you still have to seal the jackets. Assuming your using a copper head gasket. Use the spray on kind, not the tube!!!
