Is it any good/ possible for a stock shortblock or will there be p/v clearance issues. A possible blower down the road also. I have a little $$ to spend on the car so I figured I could use the rest of this stock motor for something good. Thanks guys

On a stock shortblock, the Stage 2 cam will give you p/v issues.

stage one is very similar to an e cam. Just a tad bigger. If you plan on boost use the f cam. I know several guys who have and it works nice.

Actually there are alot of people running the stage2 cam on the stock shortblock with no issues with the TW heads. Search around. Call up trickflow, they have told many people that it will work and it does.

Thanks for both responses guys, thats some food for thought. I had some ideas on the F cam but I heard they have some p/v issues as well. Any thoughts?

Whatever you choose - you realize you need to actually measure your p to v to be certain you're ok, right? No one can tell you for certain if a particular combo is gonna clear in your engine. They can tell you what happened in theirs, but that has no bearing on your clearances as each combo is unique when it comes to those kinds of dimensions.

You should be ok with a stage 1, but measure to be certain. I'd check out the boost/nitrous offerings from Comp Cams if you're gonna go off the shelf. If you really want to optimize, custom cam is the only way to go. Buddy Rawls did a great job on mine. Ed Curtis and Jay Allen are also respected on the sites.

If you're stuck on an OTS cam, then check Comp Cams or Anderson Ford Motorsports blower-grind cams.

Awesome, thanks everyone for the responses. Its been an idea in my head for a while now. I have the 331 in the garage pretty much finished up but I figured I would run this for a bit more time since there isn't anything really wrong with it. I had planned on doing the "clay job" to make sure there would be no issues but I just wanted to get an idea of what OTS cams would coinside with what I had planned. Thanks again everyone. Happy holidays
