is the efi typhoon intake power range idle -5500 or is it 1500-6500 some sites say its idle to 5500. professional products web site says its 1500-6500. who is true?
next question is how well will it work with my set up. or should i sell my explorer intake too and buy a better intake. im going crazy trying to figure out what i want to do. or should i contact tmoss and get a ported lower?

isn't the typhoon a copy of the eddy performer RPM? if so, it should be 1500-6500. the regular performer was idle-5500...

The RPM II is the updated model that superceded the original Performer RPM. The Typhoon is a copy of the original RPM model, with the 1500-6500 RPM range.

nope, there's a performer, a performer RPM, and a performer RPM II. hence why there's the "II". i had the original RPM on my old coupe.

i tried tmoss website and i couldnt get the site to come up. thanks for clearing things up with the typhoon.

the rest of my mods are in my sig, the car runs very well, the throttle responce is great. i just wanted more umph with out going real crazy. in addition, i like the stock look of my explorer intake, and i dont know if i want to change that. i was looking towards a typhoon intake cause it was alot cheaper than the other intakes.

it seams that air flow has alot to do with the lower intakes on the 5.0's, from what i read in the search function. if i could bang a ported lower and get more ass for cheap ill do that. but in addition, i culd buy a typhoon intake and port that out, both upper and lower and flow like amazing, am i right?

From everything I've read, the gain you would get over 5500 rpms would not outweigh the loss you'd get from 5500 down.

Sorry. You'd lose a lot down low. Wouldn't get that much back. The gains you did get would be above 5500 rpms. I'd get the lower ported.

Google gt40 intake comparison.

no, if I were you I would get the typhoon, if you look at the runners carefully next to a performer rpm they are actually bigger on the lower intake, the performer has big bulges for the injector bosses protruding into the runner, and the typhoon does not and also has more runner room, stock for stock the typhoon will flow more, Ive had all 3 Ive had 2 explorer's an eddy performer rpm and a typhoon, and the typhoon is only $300 to your door, the eddy is almost $550 and the runners are actually bigger on the lower intake (looking from the bottom)

its a quality part, yes it says made in china on the bottom of the lower, but it does perform just as well if not better than the eddy, and is $250 cheaper, I mean come on its a no brainer..

save the money and buy a systemax, or the trick flow! You can find one for a good price on ebay..... ALSO "just my 2 cents" I was never very impressed with the rpm, and the typhoon intakes has pretty ruff cast job on the inside hence why they are cheep.
