UCA mount bracked cracked

I noticed a noise in my rear suspension and the bracket on the side closest to the outside of the car is basically cracked in half, the rest of it seeems attached to the car but what should I do about this. I am going to a chassis welding place first thing tomorrow morning. What can I expect?

They should be able to weld in back into place and if neccessary, they'll do some grinding to grind off the excess metal. It should go smoothly. Just be sure to take it to a place that knows what they're doing.

Will it be as good as before and should I have the torque boxes and other brackets welded up better to eliminate future problems

Oh yea and the bracked is cracked apart, or in half, and there is a separation of about an inch so it does not seem like it will be as easy to fix as you suggested

Well, if I could see a picture of it, I could tell you whether they should be able to weld it up or not. When you say a "seperation of about an inch", what exactly do you mean ? Do you mean theres about a full inch of material missing, or is the bracket bent out of place about an inch ? As for welding up the torque boxes, thats a complicated procedure that requires you to drop the rear end out the car. At least this is what I've been told by someone who has welded torque boxes before. The only thing it does is adds added strength to the frame of the car when under load. Its not needed right now.

pictures, I have never done this before so I hope it works. In the fourth picture the spot welds or the two little holes is another place on the bracket that looks like it is pulling off the frame.

From what I've seen in those first few pics, it looks as if the bracket has just broke loose from the other side. No metal really appears to be missing. It should be able to be pressed together and then welded up. Or, if not, they can always put some scrap metal in there and weld the two parts together through it. Im my opinion, I've seen worse. It should be a simple fix for a welding shop that has worked on cars before.

Yeah, it looks like its fixable. Just be sure to take it to a good shop that does welding works on automobiles. Preferabley, one that has years of experience. If they've been in the buisness of doing welding on frames of cars for years, trust me, they will tell you they've seen far worse. Yours does not look that bad.

With it is fixed, I am taking it to a shop that started in 1973 doing structural welding called Greenville auto welding, they are supposedly the best in the state, will it be as good as original, I mean will the alignment and everything else be fine? I don't want to be driving around in a car, especially when I am hard on it that could have more potential problems, and will fixing this allow me to be able to launch hard without any further problems of the same sort?

It should be fine and as good as new if they know what they are doing. There's nothing to worry about, least not where I can see.
