i may be mistaken but i am told that pulleys and cai will add alittle bit of power. we are talkin like 5-8 hp and i don't know trq. also to my understanding it will make ur exhaust sound ten times better. and who doesn't like that?

Dont expect too much from the cai, but the ud pulley will do very nicely. I was pleased with mine. I just like the improved looks of the metal cai kits, especially when they are all shined up. What yr is your car?

N/M...I'm an idiot and skipped right over the part where you plainly typed 2000.

UnderDrive Pulleys are a good mod. With an ASP 25% ud, you can gain 1-2 mpg. They also give you more responsiveness and power all across the RPM range. Usaully gains will be around 8-10rwhp and 8-10rwtq.

b/c the 99+ stock setup is a one-piece balcner/crank pulley. this means that to replace it with an underdrive pulley, you also have to buy a new balancer; therein lies the price increase.

do you guys think that a 42% crank reduction is too overboard and should stick with the 25%, or would the 42% reduction not be a large factor in the rest of my accessories?

We at VMP recommend sticking with 25%. At 42% alternator charging becomes an issue, even without a big drain on power from a stereo system, or something else.

Well, I am pretty sure that the 00 springs are identical to the 03s. And, I'm not really wanting to trade mine, I'd rather sell'em than have a pair lying around
