Buddy of mine and i just attempted to install the steeda underdrive pulleys with absolute failure. We drove a bolt right into the crankshaft and stripped them both. What was once a running 02 mustang with 17k miles is now strictly eye candy.

i had money saved and was going to order myt56 tranny tonight... it looks as if this is not going tohappen now. How muchdo you think it would cost to fix, or better yet, "upgrade" since my crankshaft is toast i might as well pay a performance shop to install a forged one. What do you guys think i should do?

I dont think the UDP's had anything to do with the death of your car..

I think it was operator/installer error.

Amen. Should have had an experienced mechanic do the install. Mustang Magic installed mine for 50 bucks! Shame.

So what procedure did you follow exactly?

Installer error, not the fault of the UDP's. If it is just stripped the crank is not toast. You can helicoil it for around $80.

putting on UDPs and striping the crank out=not so smart, automatically thinkin the crank is now shot without trying to fix it=even more so not so smart.take the car someplace and let them know what you did,im sure it can be fixed without taking the entire motor apart.

Your paying 18k for a new motor?

You could have had forged 4.6, turbo, viper trans and other crap for that price.

Well, the 5.0 cammer engine runs about 15,000. I don't know about 3,000 for the labor. Could be right though. Lets see some pics

We'll believe that when we see it lol.

I should change the title of this thread to "My friend and me killed my car."
