I hope GSP kicks the crap out of Serra. GSP is a great fighter and I think Serra got lucky the first time. After Serra looses to GSP we'll get to see Hughes kick his ass too!!

As a GSP fan his chin worries me. I actually like all 4 fighters so I don't know who to pull for.

Did you watch the link? They've already sold something like 17,500 tickets privately, I think the venue holds 22,000 +or-.

I don't think it was his chin that got him in trouble I think it was the back of his head. The shot that knocked him down was square in the back of the head.

His chin seemed to hold up ok against BJ

My friend is pretty heavy into the MMA scene and his trainer is supposed to have a line on some tickets. I'll find out soon if we'll be able to get a hold of some.

I just watched the fight again, the 1st shot that staggered him was to the side / back of the head but it seemed more a glancing blow than “square to the back of the head”, but I hope you’re right.

I just watched this fight again also, of the punches that did the damage in the 1st round one was a poke or thumb and the other was an uppercut that just clipped the tip of his nose neither of these punches are the type that test your chin.

I’ve been a boxing fan all my life and have been following UFC,Pride,Cage Rage, etc etc for the last 10 or so years. People react differently to blows to the head it’s an intangible, some guys can take multiple shots and remain unfazed while others take one shot and instantly loose their legs
My concern may or may not be well founded (I hope it’s not) but I’m not sure we have enough info and watching him loose his legs after that shot makes me nervous.

I have faith in GSP and his ability to be a dominant champion in the UFC at 170.

The shot to the back/side of the head when he was off balance stumbled him enough that Serra got in the good shots it took to KO GSP. He took a killer shot right on the jaw after he came back off the cage. That wobbled him REAL good and it was all over from there for sure.

I know some guys have better chins than others. I think Jeremy Horn is a good example of that. Liddle beat on that guys melon and kept knocking him down time after time but could KO him.

I guess we'll find out for sure in a couple of months

I hope you're right,

I was a big Tommy Hearns fan, he could out box Sugar Ray and out punch Hagler, he was clearly the most talented fighter in a talented division, but his chin............

Any thoughts on the Spider Hendo match up?

Silva and Henderson?

I think Silva is going to be hard of anyone to beat. He has great striking, great BJJ and seems to dominate in the clinch.

I saw a deal the other day where Henderson seemed to think he could beat Silva in the clinch. I think that might be a bigger challenge than he thinks He is a Olympic Greco roman wrestler so maybe he can pull if off. That's what he does best right?

Henderson is one tough dude as he has proven. You don't hold belts in two of the toughest weight classes because you're not one bad mofo. He managed to defeat Wanderlei Silva in Japan in a pride ring. That was a huge achievement! If he can do that he stands a chance of beating anyone.

I dont think GSP has to worry about his chin, it was a punch to the back of the head that lost is balance. He took about 10 good shots from serra and he still wasnt knocked out, just couldnt defend himself. If GSP has his head in the game, I dont think theres many if any people that could challenge him.

I would like to see Silva and GSP fight one day, but I doubt it would ever accumulate.

I hope you're right it would be a shame for someone of his ability to be hampered by a suspect chin.

Go to the ufc website and listen to Silva’s post fight interview, he talks about going down in weight.

I'll be sure to do that. It wouldnt surprise me much, he use to fight at 170 before. 170 would have great competitors for him, and it would create some amazing fights and truly show the talents of each fighter. I think it'd be great for him to fight in two weight classes.
