Allright, so the other day I got a new battery, but as it turned out my starter was shot-got a new starter everything is fine. While we were putting the new battery on, to combat corosion my dad put these pads on and some vaseline on the connections. I'm driving home and the car starts shaking and the lights going on and off so i put it in neutral and turn it off and coast to a stop. I get out check all the fuses etc. After checking every fuse, I start thinking what has changed since it worked fine, ahh the battery. I go and take off those stupid pads and the car starts up fine. This was about 2 weeks ago. Today at the fred-meyer parking lot the same symptons occured, shaking & lights going on and off. I disconnected the battery terminals, and wiped out the excess vaseline, i figured that was the problem. Car starts back up drive to school great. As i'm leaving school it won't turn on. I go back and fiddle with it and scrape all the vaseline off and it's fine. Then when i'm almost home it dies again and I have to unscrew the battery terminals and have them just barely touch the battery nipples to get any power. So i'm driving up the hill with the battery cables loosely connected so my car will stay on. I am at a complete loss for what the problem is but it is wreaking havoc on my commute to school. Sorry for the god damn novel but i wanted to get all the background info out there. Thanks in advance
