Underdrive Pulley Installation

Just have a few quick questions about installing my underdrive pullies. How tight should the bolts be on each pulley? I already have the alternator pulley on. My friend put it on with an impact wrench. So I just need to know about the water pump pulley and crank pulley. They are the steel powdercoated March pullies. I am using the Ford Racing crankshaft pulley spacer because I have the Ford Racing SFI balancer. Therefore, I had to get special longer bolts. They thread in using an allen key style socket so I don't think I could use an impact wrench without snapping the socket.

water pump pulley to hub bolts 15-22 ft. lbs. and crank pulley to damper bolts 35-50 ft.lbs.

If you don't have a torque wrench, W/P should be firmly snug. You can get them tight enough holding the pulley by hand as you tighten with the wrench. Just don't lean real hard down on the pulley when tightening so you don't break the pump. It's not fragile, but some people get carried away, I've seen some funny breaks

On the crank, get them tight, but don't kill them.

Waterpump- unbolt the fan and then the bolts on the waterpump pulley and then bolt the new pulley up and the fan.

crank- unbolt the four bolts on the pulley and tap the pulley off with a hammer. Just bolt the new one on.

I just used a regular ratchet and socket (and allen socket for the new one)for the crank pulley and a ratcheting wrench for the fan and waterpump.

I actually wouldnt use the alternator pulley. I used it when I put underdrives on and it basically didnt charge the battery at idle and the headlights dimmed. Even after putting on a 130 amp alternator the charging at idle sucked. I put the stock pulley back on and now it charges fine. There was a difference of atleast one volt between the two pullies.

I had some concern about the alternator as well even though I have the 130 amp, but decided to give it a try anyway. The pullies are the power and amp series that are not supposed to affect charging. The alternator pully is actually very small so we will see how it goes.
