underdrive pulley?

when i bought my car guy said he had installed underdrive pulley. i didn't believe him. my question is how can you tell i you have a underdrive pulley installed without taking the pulley off? i let my friend drive my car, has same year, same set up w/ out underdrive pulley and he says it revs up faster then his.

Rev speed has nothing to do with it.



Either post pics...or look over your pulleys carefully. If they are OEM pulleys, they will have Ford part numbers (E7ZE-XXX) and Ford logos on them.

A stock pulley is significantly larger than an U/D Pulley!

I could look at it and in two seconds tell you if its an U/D pulley. post some pics up.

Look at the bolts that hold the crank pulley on. An U/D crank pulley is so small they can't have regular bolts, like 13mm, 15mm etc....They have alan head bolts. They take those because there is less clearance for the stock bolts.

Usually u/d's come in a kit though, and have a water pump and alt. pulley with them. Post pics man, that will be the best for us and for you.

Here are the stock pulley's. (I can't recall if the stock pulley's are black or not, if anyone knows let me know just for educational purposes).

Thx for teh conformation mang.

However, dont just go by color, because Ive seen black aftermarket pulley kits before. But you can kind of see the difference between teh two.
