If you are using anything other than Steeda or other high quality pulleys that are a one piece harmonic balancer and pulley assembly TAKE IT BACK.

Don't waste your money on piggy back pulleys. They are a pain in the ass to install and have a bad reputation for wobble and setting a crank position sensor code.

Do it right or don't do it at all.

I did Steeda UDPs and haven't had any problems from them but did notice my alternator voltage dipped just slightly so my amps cause a slight flicker when turned up loud.

A stiffening capacitor fixed this.

I've had MAC piggyback UDP's on my car now for 7 years and about 70K miles. My car runs just fine, and the install (while annoying) wasn't terrible. Do you have personal experience with UDP's causing "wobble and setting a crank position sensor code", or is this just another internet rumor?

OP if you get the piggyback style, make sure you soak the pulley's in a pot of hot boiling water for a little bit before screwing them together. As far as performance gains, it was really hard to tell a SOTP difference. However, they only cost $99 so even if they did nothing I wasn't out much money

i also have the steeda pulleys. very happy with these. install wasnt too bad but not super easy either ( balancer was a bit challenging ). i admit, i bought these because of the piggyback rumors. i personally have had no experience with piggyback pulleys but there are several guys out there like nate that have ran these with 0 issues.

consider this - if your car is higher mileage or your stock balancer is in bad shape, spend the extra money to get quality pullies and a new balancer as well.

Same here. I heard enough rumors to convince me to go the "right" way. Can't go wrong with a Steeda product, especially since they worked with Ford to design the balancer with the correct damper characteristics.
