I was kinda interested in purchasing the Steeda underdrive pullies but dont they slow down the water pump?, And wouldnt that make the car run hotter?
Texas Augusts can reach temps to 115 degrees and i dont wanna burn up my brand new stang.....

Would this mod be worth it in my area?

hehe yeah. the reason i told you not to get the ud's was the gains are minimal. 5rwhp. But of course every little bit counts. You'll hardly feel any SOTP gain with them. if you can get them used.

Yes.... along with dimming head lights and a smaller balancer pulley that is not balanced to your crank at the factory.

You might not get 5hp out of the pullies!!!

my friend has underdrive pullies on his daily driven '03. I haven't heard any complaints from him, I'd say you're good to go

What I dont get is the comanys advertise 12-15 HP gain in underdrive pullys.I would tend to think that 12 is the MIN. and 15 was the max, because otherwise wouldnt they put 5-15 HP gain???Maybe I am wrong, but thats what I thought.Maybe you should go with March, they have been around for a long time and I would think that their products would be better and give as advertised. If they dont, maybe someone should file a lawsuit for misleading information by all the companys LOL,wonder if it would work.

ehhh, somehow i remember seeing they both (steeda&march) getting around the same hp. it all comes down to who you want to buy from or if you want to get the t/a and pullies from steeda

Go with the Steeda. I have had them on my 00GT for three years now in the New Orleans heat and humidity with absolutely no problem. Most people average 7-9 RWHP from them. Plus the Steeda's make it easy if you want to add a TA.

Back in the day, in Austin, Texas, I had a '96 Formula (LT1). I put March Performance pulleys on it (among other mods) and my water pump died on me about 6 months later...related? I don't know? Peformance gains are not worth it.

Truth in advertising goes out the window with performance parts. Sure, they might be able to get a 12-15HP gain, but with so many variables and nobody regulating how they test and what they advertise, our only option is to rave or bitch about them out here and be faithful to those manufacturers who's parts actually live up to the claims they make.
If you do go with pulleys, I'd recommend Steeda...just for this reason. Quality stuff. They say 8-10 HP, but what they don't say is whether that's gross or net (RHWP).
