I am looking at adding a set of Steeda underdrive pulleys for my soon to be delivered 06 GT but my question is this. I know you shouldnt add them if running a super strong stereo system due to it needing more power but my 06 has the Shaker 1000 sound system with two 10 inch factory subs. Would that that draw enough power that it wouldn't be a good idea to put the pulleys on? I don't plan on adding any serious electronic stuff. Thanks for your assistance

you should be ok factory amps don't draw as much power as an after market. Just to help ease your pain look at the size of the power wire that powers the amps...Now when you use an after market and are hooking up 8ga. or 4ga wire directly to the battery now you will run into problems. if it is factory I wouldn't worry.

With UDP the alternator isn't really affected at cruising speeds, only at lower engine speeds (bellow 12-1500 RPM). So unless you sit in a lot of traffic I wouldn't worry.

+1 with everyone. My buddy has a pullied '06 with the Shaker 1000; no problems.

You can always get an Optima or a gel battery if you do go with aftermarket subs. A capacitor would help, too.

FWIW no issues on my Shaker 500 equipped car, been a nice addition and totally worth it.
