Im Thinking About Doing Some Under Hood Dress Up Before I Get My Stang Out Of Winter Storage.

Ideas:
Powder Coat Upper Intake Black
Powder Coat Valve Covers Silver or Chrome
Paint Intake Tube Black
Get some Black Silicon Connectors
Paint TB & EGR Spacer Black (For Now, Eventually Will Have Polished Ones)
Paint Radiator Brackets Black
Paint Some Other Misc. Things Black
Paint Fan Shroud Glass Black (maybe)
And of Course Clean Everything Else Up

Opinions?

Any Other Ideas Are Welcome.

i don't think painting almost everything black would look that great. i think some black, along with some more shiny stuff you want to 'pop' looks good. personally i've just gone with the cleaning and polishing route without much painting of anything, but i'm ready for a change... not sure yet...
would you ditch your a/c? looks like it's non-functional anyways.... that cleans up the engine big time. the upper intake needs some work for sure, brackets, nuts, small stuff like that makes a big difference. i don't have any pics less than 8 mos old of my engine right now, but i painted some small stuff and it looks much better...... i'd also get a rad support plate. thats just a generally ugly area of these cars that can be spruced up quite easily

I'm Going To Do A Black And Polished Theme, I'm Just Going To Start With Some Of The Black Stuff First Since I'm Going To School And Can Only Work On My Car The Weekends That I Go Home. And Eventually I'm Going To Be Getting Some Polished Things Like A Polished Radiator Support Like Your Said, Some Polished CC Plates, Little Polished Pieces Here And There, I'm Also Going To Have My Lower Powder Coated Chrome, When I Take It Off To Be Ported. I Know The A/Cs Ugly Eventually I Want To Get My A/C Back, That Pumps No Good Anymore Though Because Its Been Open For Who Knows How Long.

Heres a pic of my motor dressed up. Its a combo of shinney stuff, and things nicely painted. And like bloop said anything thats not needed under the hood get rid of. Its amazing how much cleaner an engine bay will look after removing things like the a/c if your not using it!

well here's an old pic, cuz thats all i have. it doesn't look so great here, but most of it was just cleaning, sanding and polishing of aluminum pieces (this is before i did any polishing), little bit of painting, and i have some more dress up items on now (rad support really helps!) and i think it looks a lot better now than in this pic, but it didn't take much more to make a big difference. it really doesn't cost much to clean it up, and nobody really sees it but me, but i feel good opening my hood and seeing it for myself. i have no intentions on doing shows or anything like that. i just like a clean car for my own satisfaction. a little elbow grease is all it really takes...

oh, and i personally wouldn't bother with powdercoating your lower, you barely see it. i'd personally spend that money elsewhere
i'm on a tight budget also as a student, and i'd just get some nice valve covers, & do something with your upper intake first.

I agree with above - too much black. My opinion is the stock colors look pretty nice when it's all cleaned up a bit...

I have a dress up item if your interested. The polished firewall plate.take a peek

Dont just black it all out 100%. Do some other touches as well so some thought looks like it went into it..
Theres a white notch thats all blacked out and he has other details done to the bay as well. Looks awesome.

On your dark green car the best color to use would be silver. I think black for the block, radiator top, hold downs, pulleys, A/C bracket and maybe a couple more small things works. Then the A/C comp, intake, VCs, inlet tube, TB, alt, should be a nice bright silver. Silver and green compliment each other well, and really make the engine bay clean.

Also lose the red cap, the blue wires, and some other stuff like that to keep it one "theme".
