I just had a quick qustion about the rear end in my 87. On the way home from a car hangout last night it was wet, and if i gave it 2 much gas on the way home id slide a bit sideways. B4 i went home, i went to a parking lot just 2 see how it would do on a doughnut because ive never attempted it on this car. Well i nail it and all i do is spin the outside tire... both ways. I hit 2nd once and hit like 65-70 and still all i did was a complete circle with my inner tire spinning. Why could i do a doughnut in my 97 6 cylinder with a open rear end, and not be able to do it with a 8 and a rear end with t-lok?? Thnx in advance

I've done this mod and it works great. I've used similar instructions as the one mentioned above. Forget step (14) from above!!!! You'll hammer on that S-Spring all day and never get that thing back in there. Get yourself some 7/16" threaded rod about 12" long with some nuts and 2 large washers for each end. What you will do is sandwhich the S-spring in by tightening the washers together with the nuts. Friend of mine got the idea from a rear end bushing installer.
