Since Strype is our resident 'Bama fan and he's dropping the ball on getting it started, I'll give it a go as a homer for the pre-season #2 OSU Buckeyes. First things first, if Tyrelle can play like he did against Oregon, then we will be in the BCS title game. Most of our big games are at home with Wisconsin being the only significant road game. And that is significant since we don't have the best record at Camp Randall. Who will we play? Tough choice. Obviously, Bama is an odds on favorite. Can they ride the back of Mark Ingram all the way? I'm more interested in seeing what Florida can do in the post Tebo era. Will Boise keep it up? What about TCU? What sleeper team will shock the world this year? How long till COramprat comes in and tells me the BigTen/OSU and all other schools except SEC schools are overated and we're all playing for the right to lose to the SEC champ in the BCS game? I put the over/under at 3.5 hours! :D

*BOING* Here I is.

I gave Hobie the honors of placing the SEC on the top of the mountain and he dropped the ball.

I'm a bigger LSU fan than an SEC fan so after the last two seasons I may as well act like I care the SEC is that good.

As far as LSU...where do I start? Some fan base (and media) have Les Miles on the hot seat after two good seasons. This is a coach, while admittedly making some bonehead moves, has the best 5 year record of any coach in LSU history. Including that coach at Alabama. I'm glad the people who do the hiring and firing don't buy into that or we wind up like Nebraska...can't find a coach who wants the job if he is going to get fired after 5 winning seasons.

Anyway, we just lost what was supposed to be a hell of a QB in Zach Lee. Turns out he is also a pretty decent pitcher and was drafted in the 1st round by the Dodgers. Got a signing bonus of $5.25 MILLION Monday...and some of the Tiger faithful think the world came to an end...over an 18 year old kid who is a baseball player that could play football. Shows the mentality of some LSU fans.

So our QB is a guy who has started for the last two years...every game last season. While the offense has been mediocre at best my opinion is he will be one heck of a player this season. He has been compared to Tyrelle Pryor when he came out of HS...with better stats. :D There ya go Bus...my dig at ya.

We had a ton of injuries at RB last season so some of the guys this season have game experience. That will be a big factor in the offense. If we get the O-line issues fixed it could be a good season. We have proved that it only takes a serviceable QB who doesn't make many mistakes to win championships.

The defense is going to dominate. If we get beat it will not be a blowout...guaranteed.

The schedule...pretty daunting. We have North Carolina as the opener in Atlanta. Not really a home game for either team and LSU fans travel well. The biggest challenges will be Florida, Auburn and Arkansas on the road. Arky is probably on a downturn and Auburn on an upswing and while these should be wins they always give us trouble. I've already counted Florida as a loss. Home games against Bama and West Virginia. I already know Bama will be tough but we had them until late in the 4th last season. I donp;t know too much about WVU but it should be an interesting game. 1st home game of the season after opening two on the road.

Except he's 6" shorter, can he even see over the O-line? :D

Glad you finally made it in here. I wouldn't sweat WVU too much. They're in their 3rd year of having a career assistant at head coach. That never works too well. Look at Miami after Butch Davis left for the NFL. Coker won a title in his 1st year, lost to OSU in his 2nd, and was out of a job after 4. I'm not too sure what to think about Les. I know when his name was kicked around for the Michigan job, I was OK with it as a Buckeye fan, but he keeps getting good recruits and that's important. The Xs and Os of the game don't matter if you can't get talent to the school in the first place.

I don't know too much about WVU this year either.

I just looked through the roster and yikes- I hardly recognize any names. Most of the starters graduated last year, there are still two good WR's around (Wes Lyons and Jock Sanders) and our good, fast RB (Noel Devine), otherwise I have no idea. A bunch of no-names at QB (Pat White's little bro is the only one I recognize and he is unproven so far).

We've got Coastal Carolina (wtf?), Maryland, UNLV (another wtf- new non-conference team I guess), South Florida, Syracuse, Cincy, and Rutgers at home, so I'm glad we got USF and Cincy as home games...but we do have to play LSU, Louisville and Pitt away (although Pitt is hardly "away" since it's an hour and a half up the road).

Will have to wait to see what happens I guess! I'm happy regardless because my company got a blue lot pass (right in front of the stadium) for tailgating, and six season tickets so I may get to go to a few games :nice:

edit: Cbus posted right before I did! I agree, Stewart is really only so-so as a head coach. A lot of people honestly despise his being head coach. Everyone says he's a helluva nice guy, real likable, terrible coach. I'm waiting to see what this season brings since he doesn't have a big roster of proven starters to depend on.

Hokies vs. Boise State. Should be a fairly interesting game. Can Virginia Tech who has replaced 11 Starters beat a undefeated Boise State team returning all but 1 starters?

Time will tell. September 6, 2010 will be the deciding date. Stay tuned sports fans.

so who is the coach you are talking about? Solich? if so i would agree it was a mistake to get rid of him especially when we added an even bigger loser! but thankfully now all of that is in the past
GO BIG RED!

Yeah...his replacement was a 4th or 5th choice if I remember correctly.

Pelini is a good coach. I had an occasion to speak to him when he was at LSU over the years. He went from a guy who looked at you crosseyed like "why the hell are you talking to me"? when he first got here to being pretty personable his last season.

now Pelini just needs to watch his actions a little better. but i guess we will never have another Tom Osborne
