Unused plug in the wiring harness.

I have the car in my sig, 1990 Mustang GT with a T5, and I have the drivers side fender off to try and fit my methanol pump somewhere in there.

When I took the fender off I noticed an unused plug that came out of the main harness and was capped off attached to the inner fender.

What is this plug for? Automatic car? I can't think of anything...

Probably the DRL (Daytime Running Light) connector used for the DRL module on Canadian cars.

If it is that, is there any harm in cutting the plug off and hiding the wires back in the harness?

I've read that you have to connect the GY/W wire to the LG/BK and connect the P/W to the LB/BK. Otherwise your Park Brake and your High Beam indicators will not work correctly.

What's the harm in just leaving it alone tucked inside the fender?

It weighs maybe 20 grams tops

I am working on hiding my wiring and tucking it away, one less connection makes it easier for me.
