My 06 Vert progress LOAD WARNING!

Well I have given my vert a little makeover lately. It is my daily driver and has a little over 37,000 miles on her. I did all performance mods before doing appearance mods. So now that it is almost done I wanted to show it off a bit. So here is a little thread about the progress that has been done.

It all started here when my performance mods were all done earlier this year...Vortech blower, aluminum driveshaft, x-pipe, flowmasters, 3.73 gears, Hurst short-shifter, Eibach Pro-Kit, Steeda Camber Adjusters.

Then my appearance mods started out.
I scored this chin spoiler off a guy for 50 bucks...

I bought this heat extractor hood and here is some pics of the test fit. It is currently still getting painted. Gonna be black and the vent screens painted silver.
It was raining a lot at the time so the car is a bit dirty

Hood should be done this week. Taking their time to make it nice.

Next I scored a billet upper/lower grill insert from a guy who traded his GT in on a GT500. 75 bucks! Oh and my first trophy...3rd place!

I have been wanting a light bar since I got this car...and went with the one from CDC. Here is some pics of the install I did it myself. A beginner could install this the instructions were very good.

I had to take all the rear panels and the seats to install this light bar.

View attachment 353136

Here is a pic of the mods so far as of 2 weeks ago. Nothing real fancy except these flaming GT emblems...a little eccentric but I like them. Also I have some billet A/C knobs and drink cup liner inside.

As of today I received some more goodies. The dual chrome strut bar from Granettelli, billet strut bolt covers, the Joe Heck Cap set, Chrome GT fuse box cover, aluminum radiator cover, and the CDC hood struts. I began the install right after UPS left the house The strut bar cleaned up the handling immensely. Unbeleivable difference and it looks great too.

All in all I am still waiting on the heat extractor Hood and the street scene rear spoiler and I am done for this year...Christmas came early. I am also detailing the inside, outside, and under the car getting ready for a show this weekend. Don't care if I win anything just like to show my ride...Take care

Very shrp looking BonB.
I was quite impressed with the ease and quickness of installing the CDC hood struts. What a great thing to not have to remove the bracket completely from the hood I only had to make one adjustment to the passenger side after they were bolted on. The whole process took less than 20 minutes

They were easy to install and it is so nice to lift the hood with ease and have it stay up without fishing for the hood prop

No problem and I think "Scrapper" would be a great name for my puppy!
Numbers are 451rwhp and 416 lbs tq. We finally worked the performance and rough idle Gremlin out of it by having to replace the PCM and a new alternator. It ran like crap for almost a year. But things are looking up now...

WOOHOO

Won 3rd place in the 05+ Mustang class at the 26th Annual San Antonio Mustang Club Car Show today held at the Bass Pro Shops.... there were more than a dozen 05+ Stangs and at least 250 cars in the show today as well. My hard work has paid off a lil' bit...

Here is some pics of the show and some of the other Stangs...First take a look at this Saleen Cobra... 1 of 9 produced

Interesting that they permitted covertibles to have tops down. Most shows where I have entered my 1966 convertible the top had to be up so judges could see it and be certain it was in good condition.
Congratuations for your win.

Congrats BonB

This is just wrong...Lambo doors, chrome mirrors and why would you put the "HP" on the side as well...the "550" would have been enough

Thanks very much! Every vert out there had the tops down...must have been super competitive show you were in.

They are 18x9 in front and 18x10 rims. The rims are DD not sure about the tires though.

The guy that has that 05 with lambo doors wins something in pretty much every show he attends. He has all kinds of stuff done to it. He drags it as well...pulls consistent low 11's slickies and 12.0's on streets.

Not really. I've have actually seen a guy with a convertible who didn't even have a top and objected when a judge asked him to rasie it.
The shows I attend, tops up seems to be the norm. After all, how can you judge something you can't see?
As for the lambo Mustang, I don't care for it. It's way too much. I also have judged cars at shows and he would not get my vote. Looks like he has everything a dollar can buy on the car.

Wow so in other words....be ready to raise it anytime. I was the only 05 up vert there. There hasn't been any other 05+ verts at all at the handful of shows I have attended so far. Wonder if I would get more points leaving it up next time?
