Well, i had a post a few weeks ago about my car being in an accident that totalled it. They say i need a whole new front clip. combine that with airbags, and it's totalled. I am going to try and post pictures here, i don't know how well it will work.
Here is one from a little bit away showing how she hit me from the corner and kinda got under the car.

Here is a closer view.

I hope they work, they're in the galleries anyways.
Now i have the front bumper stuff off, the radiator out, the intake out, and i'm fighting with the tensioner and power steering to get the bracketry off the heads so i can take those off. My plan is to buy another mustang, swap whatever i need to get a car running and racin, and then fix up ol blue to be an all out drag car.... if i can, otherwise just part it out.

I thought it was going to be REALLLY bad, but that isn't. Granted, it is pretty bad, but I've seen much worse fixed. I'd get her fixed and back on the road.

My t-bird was worse than that and i still was able to fix it myself. I just had a friend put his foot on the brake and used a comealong that was attached to a big tree by a chain.

Well, i'd fix it, but it looks like it's bent back to the shock tower, which means i would need to replace basically the whole front clip. I was thinking about it though. I can get some of the fenders and hood type stuff at cost, i just got a bumper shock for free because i did some construction work at River Oaks Ford, and I was thinking of just welding some metal together and putting it back together. the bottom part of the uniibody stuff is really really crushed though. I don't ahve a digi cam, i'll get my friend to take some pics now that stuff is taken apart.
I was thinking of putting it back together as a trailer queen drag racer, but that's gonna cost a LOT. Especially when i'm trying to move out, get marrried, and have 2.5 kids, ya know what i mean? I got one more year of college too.
does anyone know the Airbag rules for a drag racer? do i need them? that's another thing that has my car totalled, those stupid airbags.

My mother has a 95 v6 and it slid under a Dodge avenger and really $#@% it up. 3 months and $4,000 later it is good as new and awaiting the Reconstructed title..

Yeah, like i said in your other post, my car was messed up half that bad but because of the airbags, salvage value and the litte bit of damage it had, it was totaled.

I'm sorry to hear about this. You can get some used air bags for your car from a junkyard. You have to get a Mustang passenger side but for the drivers side you can get an airbag from a Ranger, Escort, Taurus and a few others I think. Only thing is with "used" airbags, most place wont put them in so you'd have to do it yourself.

I hated getting rid of my car but rather than piece together something that's been wrecked I took the opportunity to find soemthing that made me happier. I'm kinda glad I wrecked mine now.

Hope everything works out for you.

Chris

Hate to see that. I really like those blue GTs. My brother took my car out for a spin in Jan and tried to knock down a gaurdrail. I cut the car at the shock towers and replaced everything. $5000 and three months later I'm back on the road again.

That's bright Atlantic Blue right? That color is so beautiful but in all my 17 years I haven't seen one with that color (in person) but it's gorgeous.

I still think it looks like my car that had the teal paint code.

After looking at pics of my car, yours is a bit darker. Nevermind.

It's a bright blue, as far as i know.
I think i'm gonna try and fix it up a bit and then twin turbo it as a full out drag strip car, prolly not even streat legal. I'll prolly build some of my own front end. Looking at the passenger side, the fender got bent a smudge back to cover the door a bit, meaning ir's probably bent all the way across. I'm not gonna worry too much about squaring it up or nothin, just get it together, maybe some junk yard parts, and then put the turbo's on. Shoot, maybe IL will let me get a show license and i'll actually get to drive it on the street someday. As for now, it'll be a bit of a parts and then my project car. I'm looking at a fox box, or possibly a two door explorer. Did they put 5.0's in the 2 doors?
