lookin great man, this was my first look at your project and I must say its lookin great.

You dont need a 1/2" fuel line. Most electric fuel pumps use 3/8" fittings and line and supports 700hp. 1000hp you need 1/2 line and 10an fittings. Anyways, little overkill but its better over than under.

I knew that 1/2 was overkill, but much of the stuff I've been doing has also been so why stop there?

I've read that 7/16 would have sufficed to support a 550-600hp/450ci engine. But the 3/8 you mention is using an electric fuel pump and big injectors, that setup has MUCH higher flow rates than my mechanical pump setup can ever get at 4-7psi, even though my pump is a 110gph unit.

naa... aeromotive carb pump is up to 700hp I believe and 3/8" in and out. I was running 450hp 393 stroker on a mech pump and 3/8" line no prob

Good updates Edbert, I spent a lot of time on your site in the past and appreciate the level of detail you are putting into your stang. I'm going to be replacing the original fuel line on my 68 soon because one section is damaged/dented/crimped and want to make sure I can feed the new beast under the hood. I'm using a Holey mechanical pump with 3/8" connections, so figured I would run 3/8 throughout. Your tech article states the following:
"I have read and been told that the factory 3/8 line will not support over 400fwhp in a car with a mechanical pump and a carb, I don't claim to know that is true but it made sense. "

What size are the inlets/outlets on your fuel pump? Isn't the flow control based on the smallest section of pipe in the fuel system? Keep up the good work.

They are 1/2, the pump is a Holley 110gph mechanical.

Yes, no doubt, and since nobody has mentioned it yet the outlet on my fuel tank is still 3/8 or 7/16 (whatever came on the S code).

Thanks, I keep chipping away and getting a little bit closer to actually driving the damn thing. You know the saying, it only took me a decade worth of Saturdays...sigh.
