alright, so i ordered the 3.73 gears, underdrive pullies, and the new speedo gear.

i'm going to be installing them most likely this thursday.

i am going to the local autoparts store right across from my school tomorrow, and buy a 71" belt and i'm deleting the power steering and smog pump.

power steering is on its way out, so i figure remove it before i get any problems.

i'm removing the pump, and i'm going to make sure the rack has fluid in it, and plug it up so it doesn't run dry.

i've driven my brothers porsche which doesn't have power steering, which is alot lighter car, but it wasn't really that bad to drive, i actually kinda enjoyed it more then power steering.

i also ordered something else for my car, but i'm going to wait till i get them and take a picture of them on the car before i mention it, because i'm not sure how everyone feels about them, so before i get opinions on it i'll get a picture of what they look like. i've already photoshopped a car with them on to be similar to my car and i loved how it looked.

i drove a 94 gt with no power steering before and it was VERY hard to turn at low speeds and in parking lots or any other tight space.i don't think it would make for a enjoyable daily driver.i think if your heart is set to go that way you had better start lifting weights now.

I concurr with the above statement.
When my rack took a dump, all the fluid leaked-out when it was parked at school one day, and when trying to turn the wheel and torquing it so hard it felt like something was about to break, it was very challenging to say the least, so I left it there and walked to the nearest gas station to get fluid for it to get it home. (I was mostly worried about destroying the pump).

I'm guessing a dedicated manual rack (such as the Flaming river unit) might have more mechanical advantage designed into it to make it easier to drive
But they're pricey.
Replacement pumps are not very expensive.

i enjoy driving without it, and i figure if i just plug the rack so it doesnt burn out and take the pump out and drive around like that, i can always go back to power steering if i needed.

i definitely think i would want it for winter driving.


i meant to also post, i was talking about rebuilding my engine, the idea i have for that is


buy a 302 for around 500 bucks maybe more maybe less at the swap meet in a little over 2 weeks or so. build up a 347 shortblock, and put trickflow heads and stage 2 cam on it. drive around like that for a while until i get the money for a new intake and everything else that i should upgrade with it. take everything else i need off of my current motor thats usable.

i'm going to do longtube headers and a offroad x pipe very soon, i don't want to upgrade the catback right now because of how much oil i burn the pipes look like crap with the black stains on the tips.

but i'll be going with bbk long tubes, bbk o/r x, and slp loudmouth 2 catback.

any recommendations on things i should change or go for a little bit more money but get alot better bang for the buck

i'm ultimately looking at around 400 hp, i'd like to get into mid 12s this summer if possible.
