dude just buy a 87-93 fox

its not going completely 87-93 so the cost involved is near the same.

Also I would be converting an EFI car to carb.

If it is a model year of 1995 or older it is exempt from an emissions inspection. Here is the link to the law. Motor Vehicle Help File

go for it, it's just a mustang. Theres lots more 4 eyes around then people want to see. I see quite a few a week. If thats what I was building, and i wanted to start from scratch, i'd just pick up a junk 4 eye car as there cheap as they come, perfect for a good start.

they just changed the emissions laws here so dont know them well yet.

I just want to build a unique car out of 79-04 mustangs and see how it comes out. I dont want a run of the mill car.

From what I can tell this will be the first time a car like this has been built. Its just a mesh of different years and touches from different fox bodies that I like.

Do you mind if i ask exactly what your plans are for the car? so far i'm seeing an 80' turned into an 87+, 87+ dash, average LX front bumper cover, LX rear bumper cover, T tops(you're opening a huge can of worms there, i wouldn't even attempt a T roof swap unless you're a very good weekend mechanic or full time collision repair man), etc.. i dont see anything special besides the possibility of it being a T top coupe. IMO keep everything 79-86 and find an 82GT/79 pace car front end for it.. kinda like my coupe

Well this has to be the first time in months I've posted in the 5.0 section. I was gonna go over my setup because I think I may have time to build my car this year. But lo and behold waaaaat is the 3rd thread I come across about... Mod's how long honestly has it been since I have been here?

Kid/dood/man Do yourself a favor. Go buy an LS1 and put in the car because the intake and throttle body are both restricted in that car. Then then upgrade the front nose because the 4 eyes catch soooo much more air than the aeros do. And finally the interior. God those little light up car management areas around the radio are sooooo 80's. And then there's the radio. You could probably fit at least one 12 in the back unless it's a vert. And there's the 15 inch rims (or the metrics in 83-84 and I think earlier) and they obviously suck. So change those. Cobra R's are what you should use. And make sure and change the spoiler or luggage rack or lack there of to a wing for down force. Make sure to add ground effects.

Then you will have a chevy powered early 80's POS that was rescued by you and it will handle and look the way it should have. Those engineers in the 80's were morons anyway so don't feel bad.

Good luck,

Strype

I was going to do some 18inch Kicker subs with 4 -4inch tips a Wing that is level with the roof purple under chassis lighting with red interior lighting and actually had considered using a Chevy slant 6 in it instead of the LS due to the great potential in that engine than the Ls. As far as gauges I was going to use some from one of the greatest cars of all time! The pinto! If I cant find them due to how rare and sought after those cars are I will use some from a corvair! As far as wheels I was going to use some late 70s chevy rally style wheels. Wanted to use the Magnum 500 wheels but I just cant afford to match the levels of bling you set. I hope this meets your high level of standards and proves to you Im going to do right by this car!

This one is honestly going nowhere. Just bickering back and forth over converting a four eye, or not. 89Stang, I don't think the opinions you're going to receive from here on are going to be any different than what has already been shared, so I do believe this one is toast.

I could live with an interior upgrade (since they were never anything special to start with) on a 4-eye car, but not the exterior. In the end, it's really a lot less work to just sell the car to someone who will appreciate it's heritage and go out and buy yourself an '87-'93 to start out with.
