Updating alt?

I'm swapping my old 289/C4 out for a 5.0L/AOD from a 91 mustang GT and have a couple questions? i'm adding a serp belt and 91 alt and was wondering what needs too be changed or modified/converted too use the newer style alt on my car. I'm keeping the car carb for now also. I'm putting a MSD 6al box on it too. Thanks for any help you can give.
 
Or you could forgo the extra wiring for the 91 alt and do the 3G swap from a 94/95 stang. Only one wire to be connected (red/grn) to the new regulator on the alt. White wire off of the VR goes to stator, and yellow/wht goes to B+ terminal. You could buy a new alt from a parts store and take back the core later and most of the time they won't even know... trust me I work at one. This gives you a simple hookup, more of a DIY, and more amps to play with. The only other thing is that the alt bracket would need to be trimmed some... just another idea for ya
