*EDIT: Check Post #5 for FINISHED pics.* Well as some of you know I self ported my cobras blower and TB/plenum not too long ago. Unfortunatly I didnt have the tools I needed to complete the job and basically had to finish with it looking nowhere close to what I had invisioned due to time constraints.
Went and had the car tuned, and although it was nearly 90*s, I still wasnt very happy with my #s. (476/502)
SO now that I have 4 days off this week, I decided to pull the blower back off (2 hours or so....by myself) and finish it up....now that I have the tools.
I also have received some more pictures of professional work, and am going to update the design a bit vs simply smoothing it up.
So now onto the pictures
This is how the inlet looks now....how it was dynoed.
As you can see, it looks pretty crappy. Ported, but not smooth at all.
Also note that my plenum looked EXACTLY like that at the time of the dyno.
But I have since played with it and smoothed it up alot. Here is where its at NOW.
Yes it still doesnt look good, but im going to work on it some more and get it looking nice. Its just hard with the bumps in the way. Just for refrence, here is my old accufab plenum that I ported...never used it becuase I decided to go another route. This is the level of quality that im happy with, and thats what my goal is to reproduce with my blowers inlet, and my current plenum.
And here is my TB. Its been cleaned up a bit more since my dyno....but nothing big. Not too much work has went into it...yet.
And just for grins, this is the factory intercooler that comes on the 03-04 SVT cobras....actually made by garrett! Im sure many of you have never seen how the setup works.
and everything taped off...didnt feel like removing the intercooler again. No real need to as im just focusing on the inlet this time around.
and this last picture shows the underside of the blower....this was taken the first time I pulled it off, just a bit before putting the blower back on. I wanted to throw this in since you couldnt see the underside of the blower, with the IC inplace.
and for refrence, this is what a stock blowers underside looks like.
and a stock inlet.
anyways I will update this tomorrow after I finish my portwork update....and you guys tell ME what you think before and after. Please feel free to comment on what you see thus far....doesnt matter what you own (V6, GT, Mach, Cobra, Ford GT), I will listen to all of your opinions based on your experience, not based on what your drive, like some people do. I guess that makes me a pretty cool guy
