Not done yet... Stupid ford why did they put the top started bolt where they did?? that was a royal pita! took every extension i had and running through the frame mount for the engine! so gay! i hope i never have to take that bolt out again! got past that ordeal dropped the tranny took the flywheel to work ground it on the blanchard grinder started working on it again last night and the freaking pilot bearing wouldnt come out! tried the greese trick tried the bread trick tried a pilot bearing puller (broke it!) finaly resorted to a chisel and a hammer carefuly rotated it until i could get it out! pilot bearing was shot! needles where all gone. Going to put the stupid thing back together today. i said screw putting the shorty headers in i hate to know what i will run into if it try to get them out! plus they dont look much better than the stockers anyway! whenever i have to pull the heads for somthing i will do the headers then. im sure the magnaflow X pipe will be alot more upgrade than the shorties anyway.

Finaly got done yesterday. Had to jack up the motor to screw in the passenger side o2 sensor but once i set it back down it cleared the frame?? anyway the catted-x with flowmasters sounds absolutely awesome! and i picked up alot of top-end power the car runs so much smoother too! i believe the old 6-cat h-pipe was clogged up partialy. I do have a slight exhaust leak i have to check out today but i dont think its anything major. video soon to come

Just need to figure out this exhaust leak. also the cats seem to hang kinda low is this possibly a collapsed tranny mount? i replaced all the hangers with new ones.. also replaced passenger side flange gasket and sounds like the leak is from drivers side. sounds absolutely wicked outside the car but inside in higher gears on hills i can here the leak and dont like it anyone had this problem?

Im in jeffersonville. Yea the Flywheel was turned. I had it installed when my trans. got rebuilt. I don't know why it does it. I'd like to replace it. For some damn reason my TOB is whinning like crazy so when i get that fixed i'll probably replace the clutch too

Well i developed a helll of a exhaust leak got to looking and i had blown out the driverside exhaust manifold gasket!! so.... decided to just go ahead and install the shorty headers! after lots of cussing and agravation jacking the motor up out of its mounts etc i got the old manifolds off last night and am going to put the headers on tonight when i get home.. looks like they will go back on easier than the old sh** came off...

A small snag! the EGR fitting on the driverside manifold striped to hell when i got it out with an inpact(only thing that would get it out) it would just drop in the hole on the header because it stripped so bad. looked at all the parts stores and hardware and couldnt find one! well since the end that the EGR tube screws on was in good shape i just dropped it in the hole and mig welded it to the header.. passenger side header is on driversside should be on tonight shew.. what a PITA id hate to do LT' with thhe engine in the car!

I forgot to mention why everything was sagging/ not lined up properly etc. I discovered a bad motor mount passenger side it was letting my o2 sensor hit the frame and bent the crap out of it! replaced the mounts and all is good just need to replace the flange gasket again it leaks just a bit. Going to drop the X pipe and weld in some pipe in place of the cats sinc i dont have emisions here. highflow cats will go on my tbird to eliminate the terrible v6 drone with free flowing exhaust. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Did notice a SLIGHT pickup in low-rpm tourque and MPG with the shrortys but deffenately NOT worth the trouble unless you get them for next to free like i did. Overall a nice combo with the shorties, X pipe and AT catback. quitier in the car expecialy on hills and such alot less drone than i had with the factory H but its MUCH louder outside the car. My wife drove it the other day and i swear i could here it forever!
