So I need to decide if I should pick up a trickflow trackheat lower or throw back on the cobra intake and maybe swap to a GT40 upper. Here's the mods:

Stock bottom end 302
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads
F cam
Cobra upper and looks to be a ported lower and bigger throttle body
1.6 rockers
24lb injectors
Pro-M meter
Shorty equal length headers
O/R H pipe with Mac mufflers and tips
T-5 with new clutch....and thats about it for the useful information.
This car Pullled NICE, I guess from the RPM heads and f-cam.

Right now I have a mint Trackheat upper.....and I have a GT40 u/l on my daily driver.I had sold a mint trickflow lower to a guy but I regretted it and now want it back but he will only sell the lower with a brand new upper he bought for it.

So should I throw the cobra back on it? and if I want I could always swap the GT40 upper onto this car and and sell the cobra since I will be going with a 351 and an R series intake in the future.....orrrr buy a trackheat lower for the Trackheat? and sell the cobra? Basically all I need to know is what would perform better? Cobra/GT40 OR a Trackheat?

the trackheat will probably give you a little more HP up top, but driving around on the street you probably won't notice that much of a difference between it and the cobra/gt40. it's up to you whether it'd be worth it to drop the dough to get it back. if it's your daily driver, i personally wouldn't worry about it and just throw the cobra/gt40 back on.

I had a dyno test sheet of a few different intakes on a 347, including a GT-40 and a Track Heat. The Trickflow spanked the GT-40's peak from what I remember, but like always, the GT-40 had a broad low end. I imagine with those nice heads you'd be better off with the Trickflow, but if you're going to build a bigger Windsor, why waste money? I guess it depends on how SOON you plan on building the W, eh?

Eh well the windsor will be going in my other car, my daily driver, once I get this other car running I can save up some money for the internals I want for my windsor for the other car. so if I can get something to flow nicer on this other car, I got the whole car for $700 bucks, its pretty much gonna be a beater lol theres a thread of it with pics on here....I got the trackheat upper and a R-series upper and lower for the windsor, I was going to keep the trackheat and put it on the windsor when I'm running it on the street and switch to the R series for the track....but if I can get a 302 trickflow lower I can use the trackheat on the 302 and have a better flowing top end.....anymore ideas? GT40 had broad low end power, as in it was good down low right? do you still have that dyno test?

OK, I found the dyno I was talking about. Its actually out of an old 5.0M&SF mag, but I've got the numbers saved on my computer. I'm a nerd, I know.

Run on a 347...

The GT-40 actually made more torque (and therefore, power) than the Trickflow did up to 4000 RPM. We're talking in the neighborhood of 5-15 ft-lb more. After 4K, the Trickflow begins to pull away from the FRPP unit, and eventually bests the GT-40s peak power numbers by about 20 HP (427HP vs 447HP). Pretty solid, but this is on a fairly hot 347, so its hard to say how much significantly different these intakes would be on a milder 302.

I dunno man, I guess its up to you at this point. I go through phases, sometimes I love the factory Ford stuff, sometimes I don't. The tubular GT-40 gets bonus points for being rare nowadays, so that's always a factor.

I would sell the cobra intake, pickup a trickflow street lower and bolt teh trackheat on.. or buy my trickflow street setup :)

also this is dyno results from an old mmff mag I believe which may or may not help

According to this the Trackheat is pretty much in the bottom of the barrel...netting the lowest max power and one of the intakes with the lowest numbers....If the trackheat is supposed to be better at higher rpm hence the different length runners how does it get beat by the streetheat? and even the performer and cobra....

Anyway watcha got for sale? and how much? need anything for a trade?

That's a good point, I didn't study that chart very well. The chart is kind of confusing with all the "avg" numbers. I'd like to see the magazine that those numbers came from. In my experience, magazine charts can sometimes be riddled with errors. I once saw dyno results in a magazine with the power and torque numbers completely flipped.

Yeah I don't know man what to make of the Street heat out flowing the small runner base big brother Track Heat LOL but I have a street heat for sale if you want :)

My brother had a street heat on his turbo 91 gt and just recently switched to a track heat because he got a good deal on it and he dyno'd about six more peak hp over his previous dyno runs with the only change being the intake so
