naturally I'd wait till after business hours to begin install!! Has anyone installed one of these?? There are no details or instructions in the box, I know the metal in the engine bay has to be cut, correct?? Any info/pics would be a huge help!

I had one installed on my last Mustang. I used the UPR Powerpipe on my Supercharger. You will want to widen the hole some so it will fit but dont over do it. Mine was cut a little but larger then it had to be. I have pictures somewhere but Id have to look at where they are. If you really want them I can try to find them.

I just installed mine last week. Same thing, no directions. I just cut the hole thats in the fender larger at the front and the bottom. Used the pipe as a guide till it fit.

What did you cut the hole out with?? Thats a nice clean install, also where did you get the trim you put around the hole itself??? And whats that thing on the FMU Vacumm line?? Also, does the nipple for the bypass valve end up in the outer fenderwell or in the engine bay?

I cut the hole with a dremel tool with a grinding stone. The trim is some thick edging i had sitting around. The bypass is still in the engine bay. Comes out the bottom of the power pipe where the adaptor meets the plastic pipe. I had to get a new hose for the bypass with a 90* rubber end. The plastic piece is a one way check valve to let boost to the fmu, but not to cause a vaccume leak when the air bleed screw on the fmu is open.

Thanks, What kind of bypass you running?? I bought a bosch off ebay, still debating on wether to use it or not, I'm only running 6 PSI of boost. Im still not real clear on how the bypass works, Ive been told that the input on the valve goes to the discharge tube off the supercharger and the outlet of the valve runs to the boost pipe, is this correct???? Also, the hose running off the valve cover on the oil fill tube, what should I do with it? It ran to the vortech air filter holder, but thats now eliminated due to the tube

Same bypass valve. You are correct in the description.

The hose off the valve cover was removed and i put a vaccume cap on and set the stock (ford) tube back over it. I put a screw on k&n breather on top to bring in fresh air to the valve cover.

Good deal, Im all clear on it now, Only question I have now is about the small nipple for a vacuum hose on top of the bypass valve, can I just run hose from it to and T splice it in the with the FMU vacumm line??? Also I am assuming I need to lengthen the MAF plug wires, did you run them through the same hole with the boost pipe?

I trimmed my metal out with a pair of tin snips, left a rough edge, that will be covered up as soon as I get some edgeing matrerial from an old riding lawn mower hood tommorrow.

I just put a tee in the line leading to the fmu. I also made the mass air wires a little longer (wouldn't reach with out doing it) and ran them through the same hole the powerpipe went through with convoluted tubing over it. Also car wouldn't run at first with the c&l mass air. Tried to clock it all around. Went to a pro-m 80 shorty calibrated for #42, sc and cold air. Works perfect.

how much did you guys pay for the boost pipe? I saw an ad in 5.0 Mustang mag and it was selling for $99 but online on their website it's $129. What's the deal?

What kind of boost/sotp improvements did you notice?

I want to order one but don't want to overpay. Thanks.

Sorry about the hijacking so... Uh yeah cut a bigger hole and you can get that trim stuff at the hardware store. Good Luck

I paid 142 and some change shipped for mine, I saw it advertised for 99 after I bought mine, blah! Everyone who has used one says it's money well spent, guess I'll find out tomm hopefully. Anyways, yea you trim out the hole a little larger, dont cut too much at a time and keep it neat, I dont know where you can buy the edging trim, I'm gonna run by a place that repairs lawn mowers, most murray mowers have the rubber edging on the hood where it closes, hoping that will do the trick for me, hopefully they wont ask much for some trim off a parts mower

Getting the air filter out of the hot engine bay will have to be a huge help on warm days. Im thinking of fabbing up a cover to go over the opening for the factory air filter too

I ran into the samething (ad price/web price). Called on the phone and mentioned the ad for $99.00. Shipping was $10.00. Paid by cc over the phone.

Havent checked new boost #'s yet (traction problems/ street tires). Part throttle feels better.:nice:

Blown 83, do you care to send me some pics of the bypass valve hose job you have?? I had to use a 90 elbow from the parts store from my boostpipe and i still ended up with a ****ty gomb of a mess to me, I'm gonna have to get a metal discharge tube with the bypass fitting on it, my epoxy homemade job didnt hold up either, other than that the install is done
