urethane motor mounts

i need to replace my motormounts this weekend and im looking some decent quality but easy on the pocket book set of motor mounts. anyone have any suggestions?

if you are looking for an inexpensive solution, a set of new stock mounts are the way to go. the energy polyurethane mounts run about $125 if those are within the price range of what you are looking to spend.

Hmmm, motor mounts that are Quality and easy on the pocketbook = do they make something like that?

As was said, the polys out there are a pretty coin (though I havent priced parts store 5N95 mounts yet). I will say that I run part's store vert mounts in my fox and they are doing ok.

IS your budget 40 bucks or 140?

Great time to do the trans mount and crossmember bushings.

Yeah i know that quality and cheap do not go together. i didnt know that there was a difference between coupe and vert motor mounts. good thing i asked. i think im going to try and get some prothane motor mounts from summit, unless anyone objects, they are only 89.00.

how long do you guys think that the motor mount swap should take?

by the way, on summit, they do not show a difference between coupe and vert mounts. does it matter? also will i need to purchase new bolts?

the bolts are made into the mount, the nuts will come with the new mounts. The reason summit doesn't show diff ones for coupe or vert is becauset the urethane ones are strong enough for a vert its just an extra strengthening device from the factory so the chassis doesn't have as much flex, since there is no stiffening that would come from having a roof.

I run the energy suspension motor and tranny mount in my car. The install time depends on what tools you have. You will have to find a way to get the motor high enough in the air to get the old mounts out and the new ones in. Finding a way to do that is the longest part of the job.

a jack and a short 2x4 works nicely, the wood will soften the pressure(using this method i jacked the motor one side at a time by the ears on the block

That's what I did too sort of. I used a ratchet strap wrapped around the headers and connected to the stock strut tower brace, as well as a cut 2X4 that went from the oil pan to the bell housing. I'd jack the engine up slowly while tightening the straps so that all weight wasn't on the oil pan and bell housing. This is how I did my K member too.
