URGENT PRO 5.0 QUESTION

I am installing my pro 5.0 shifter. When I removed my stock shifter, it has a plastic round piece at the bottom of the shifter part that goes into the tranny. Do I have to remove this plastic and put it on the new shifter??? Thanks guys.

Make SURE you stick it BACK ON THE SHIFTER!!
Don't do what I did and place it in the tranny as the instructions said
