You are serious?! After watching the game, and all of the missed calls, you still think Texas is better?

Yep, because I believe they won 41-38. USC gave the game away. When USC was up by 12 they got real conservative and ran the ball (not a bad idea to kill the clock but there was 6:12 to play). Which resulted in 2 three and outs in a row. Young walked in to make the lead only 5. On the next series the same thing then they went for it on 4th down and didn't get it. Gave the ball away again (3 times in a row). Then USC plays zone and while pushing a receiver out they get a face mask penalty (gave them a first down). Vince walks in for another TD. Lots of gifts from USC gave Texas the win. If USC is the better team why 16 points scored in the last 6 minutes? The best team don't make the mistakes at the end of the game.

You can always say "scoreboard" to the bitter loser, but to some extent I think some of the guys on here have good points. I definately think USC got killed by the officials not calling a review on that pitch play. Simply awful. You know as well as I do that to have something like that occur mid-game puts an awful taste in your mouth for the rest of the tilt.

Like Jesse said earlier, college football isn't that big around here but I was still anxious to see the game. I hoped the Trojans lost ONLY because Pete Carroll is their head coach and he murdered my Patriots when he coached here.

I'd rather have Leinart then Young any day!

You can always say "officials" to the bitter loser.....,

In the end great teams don't make mistakes when your leading. The best team one.

I'm not a big college fan either. I probably watch maybe 5 games per year. I do watch this game every year though.

For one, Texas was realing off plays in 10-20 yard chunks at the time. Do you really think the outcome would have been different had they been 1-10 at USC's 12 yard line? Obviously, there is a slight chance. Anything can happen, but chances are, they would have scored anyways.

For two, the rule for a catch is to gain control of the football, and make a football move. The reciever had position for a split second, and then it was knocked lose. There is no question that he did NOT make a football move.

For three, with a game as big as a national championship game, would you rather have it dominated by the refs than by the players on the field? You mean to tell me that White was pounding away for 6-8 yards a pop, and there was no holding? Yes, both offensive lines were dominant, and didn't need to hold there inferior opponents.

Texas played a better game, was better coached, and deserved the win. All of this coming from a Sooner too. USC should have handed the ball to White 35+ times. It was obvious from the start that he was the biggest threat to the Texas D. I'm glad to see it go this way though. Giving the Heisman to Bush was a total fraud, and took away any credibility that the award still retained. It was obvious VY was the best player in the country, and Bush wasn't even as good, statistically, as Adrian Peterson was last year, when he came in 2nd to Lienart. Congrats to all the Longhorn fans out there. We'll see you in Big D next year .

Oh, and if you want to point out the mistakes the refs made, point them all out. If the Texas "catch" was a catch, and a fumble, then the "interception" by the Texas linebacker that he secured, and then the ball popped out when he hit the ground should have been called too. It was closer to a catch than the play from the reciever.

Yeah, I was kinda feeling sorry for the Trojans after the loss. Then when I heard that idiot say that, I felt no more pity.

But honestly, if Bush didn't try that fancy lateral, it would have been a whole different ball game.

If the OU punt returner hadn't fumbled when they were up 7-0, getting the ball back, and dominating both sides of the ball last year, it would have been a whole different ballgame as well. That's football.

Texas clearly won the game. BUT if I were a USC fan, I would be pissed about that touchdown were his knee was down.

But it comes down to this: Vince Young and the longhorns went down by 12 with 6 minutes to go, and came back to beat a USC team that looked unstoppable.

Texas played a great game, and deserve to be champs.

I really didnt care who won. I only rooted for USC because of how Vince Young absolutely ripped Michigan apart last year. And....he did it again.

You can say all you want about ref's and missing calls and this, that and the other. But just like Michigan, USC gave that game away. They could have pulled it out but made the wrong decisions. Who in America DIDNT know Vince was gonna run on the last play? ***** i was screaming it before the even lined up on the line. But it seems like no one was even "spying" on him. Then to call a timeout on a 2 point conversion for what reason? Does it really matter if they got it or not? Either way u needed to get a field goal to either win or go to OT. To give yourself 19 seconds with no time outs is rediculous. I could see if the game was tied but they were already losing. I just dont understand that call.

And what surprised me most is how V.Y. carried himself. I was expecting a huge celebration...and he just held that ball like it was a baby and he was in shock. Very respectable in my opinion. He is definately a mature player.

Bottom line...they got it done. And thats all that matters at the end of the day. Like in Michigan's game how a lot of people felt it should have been a penalty at the end....yea ok....Michigan still should have NEVER been in that position. Everyone can whine about all the variables they want to...but USC and Michigan had plenty of chances to win it and they didnt.

Totally agreed. A really stupid call ...... that very well may have been the biggest thing that you can say "cost the game for them".
