hello i used this program i got off of a friend. it said i would be getting around 320 rwhp @4500 and 402 ft. pds. of tq. @4000 at the wheels. i am not sure about this. is this good streetable power and what about the cam i may use. the comp cam 280 non roller with 512 valve lift.

this is what i typed into the computer.

302 bored .060 over. comp cam 280 flat tappet cam advanced to 4 degrees. 66 unported 289 heads with stock hardware and 54 cc chambers. about 11:1 compression i was told. it would be using 92 octane fuel. the carb is an edelbrock 600 cfm using a typical street dual plane intake. i got long tube headers and i don't remember what muffler i used on it but i may be putting some 50 series flows on it with no cats. i am using a t5 tranny also and will have an electric fan and no ac or smog stuff. what do you guys think about the accuracy of this program and what do you guys think it will actually amount to. thanks. sorry for another hp guessing game post.

If you were using Desktop Dyno 2000 then they don't rate the power at the wheels, it's at the flywheel....with no accessories as well. The combo I'm going to be running is rated at 392 hp on the Desktop Dyno and its not a wild combo by any means. So basically subtract 15% for drivetrain loss and another 20 rwhp or so for accessory loss and I have around 300 rwhp....that sounds about right I guess.

no it was not DD 2000, it was engine anilyzer 3.0. this one had the options of only haveing an electric fan and water pump with PS and all different belt configurations and it said brake tq and hp instead of flywheel hp. that is what rwhp means, right.

those programs can be relativly accurate assuming you enter good data for flow on the heads and such. 11:1 is a heck of a lot a compression, so it wouldn't surprise me to much.

I don't trust Desktop Dyno for one reason - the poor selection of exhaust systems and the LARGE effect changing them has on the final numbers.

ok update on the program, i new i was seeing a problem and i was. instead of putting in 4.06 for the bore i put in 4.6 and it made 398 CI. i fixed that and put in the MS A332 cam and got 339rwtq,298 rwhp with averages of 295 and 203 all this peaks at 4500 and 5000. how bout this for a combo. yes the exhaust has little things to choose from but you can put how much hp you want and it will give you a cfm rating to use. i put 300 hp.
