Used gears, what fits and are they ok?

What years used the 8.8s? Are all 8.8 ring and pinions the same? Is it ok to buy used gears off eBay and what do you look out for?

I would not buy used gears sight unseen off of ebay. If a buddy had a set that were ok I don't think it would be that big of deal. The only problem with used gears is it's hard to get them re-set so they don't make a lot of noise. For the $150 or $200 it would cost you to get a new set it would probably be worth the money

i got a set of 3.73's for 100 bucks. they are take offs from the trucks. guys come in and get big ass tires need a better gear so they sell cheap

as long as the look ok there shouldn't be a problem. They might make some noise on the highway but if you do a really good job setting them up I don't see a problem. If your exhaust makes much noise it will probably cover the howl up.

As long as they are done right by someone who knows what they are doing they will be fine. I am running a used set without a sound.
