I was bored just a bit ago so I went and peeped over at the corral so see what was going on there and happened to find this at the top of the page.

ya, and if you knew the track, you would be even more surprised..

Same track that had my car stuck in the 13's forever with a blower..
I guess he got lucky and they actually preped the track for once.

And that track ain't even fast....

Orlando ain't got nothin' on Cecil county on a 40-degree day.

Remember, Paul's never dumped the clutch either.

I wouldn't get too worried, although that fella' should be damn proud.

He got it done in the beginning with a 1.56 60 foot. Now that's serious launching.

WOW! I knew he was going to be there with me when he put the TW heads on seeing as how he went 12.4 with the GT40P's. I can't believe the 60' he got... that is amazing for a flexible flyer! 1.56 I'm pretty sure he does run ET drags, I know he used to run 8" slicks, but he mentioned stepping up to 28X9.5's or something. Now that I finally have a clutch that will hold on a launch, maybe I have a chance at a better 60' now, if I can get the car into 2nd gear that is. Hmmm... I might have reconcider my "never powershifting statement" and go for broke!!!

Again, congrats to him he damn well deserves it with times like that!

Paul did you get the trans stuff straightened out? If not, what else is left?

Joe, the tranny is drained, DS is off... I just need to pull it out now. The problem I'm having is that it will NOT go into 2nd gear at the track. No matter how hard I pull, it just stops and won't go in. It doesn't grind, it just acts like there is no gear there to engage, then as the revs come down, it goes in. Thre times to the track with about2-3 runs each time and NOT one of them was I able to hit 2nd gear in.

I think I found the problem though. Walt at pro motion thinks its an air gap problem. Well, I have a washer under the picot ball, Walt's quick release quadrant which give .050" more air gap, etc so I thought I'd have more than enough. Well, I got under the car to check the cable to see if it needed readjusted and low and behold, the damn clutch fork is sitting too far forward and comes up and hits the bell hosuing when the clutch pedal is released. No matter what I try and do now, the clutch will only disengage so much until the fork hits the bell. I either have: a bent clutch fork, the maching shop cut more off the flywheel than they said, or there is a problem with the thickness of the clutch but that is very unlikely. T-out bearing looks like it is situated fine... I don't know what else to look for. If this doesn't fix it, I'm at a loss. I'm headed to the SSOTN race here in two weeks and I'm going for broke that day... if I can make a clean pass. I plan to re-check my bell hosuing indexing too, maybe that is off a little. I have a hard time checking it when I put the clutch in and I came up with 5 thousandths which is the MAX allowed which isn't a good thing. I'll keep you posted.

Paul, go for that 11. Pull the seats, drop the clutch and powershift all the way down the track. Reclaim the N/A vert record.

That was a good time he ran, no doubt. However, to be fair... check out the size of the cam in that car. It's huge. Not that I'm taking anything away from him. I didn't think the trick flows would get a coupe, let alone a vert that deep in the 12's. He had an awesome 60' time and one hell of a run. Congrats, but please consider all that's done to the car.

Sorry, but that is the dumbest statement ever. Who cares if he has a bigger cam than Paul or not? All this knit picking when it comes to peoples times is really stupid (i.e Snoozer's weight). He ran what he ran!

Jake, I think you took what Charlie was saying the wrong way. I know Charlie personally and I know what he was trying to say and he wasn't trying to downplay the Willie's times. He's not picking on the guys times, I mean who could, they're awesome. I think he was just saying that it runs well for being a 'vert as it should for the parts that are on it. He has a better flowing intake, much bigger cam, better elevation, drag slicks, drag shocks and struts, etc... that is what Charlie was hinting at I think. I'm extremely happy for Willie to run what he is as he seems like a very cool guy, those are the type of people I root for. I wish him luck!

My next shot at a better time will come in 2 weeks. Stay tuned!!!
