dont anyone forget that without the V6 mustang, there would be no mustang.

ford sells way more V6's than GT's and its always been that way, the fact that they sell so many V6 cars enables the GT to merely exist. if they offered only a V8 mustang, it would have been gone long ago. there are lots of people who like mustangs or want a sporty little economical car and the V6 is for them....as for the sixers who think they are better than V8's and have the d!ckhead attitude, thats called being a ricer. ricers (in the personality context, not car customizing) are the ones who have inferior cars yet talk smack to those with the better cars because something happened "once" (IE: a V6 beat a GT "once" and therefore his V6 must be able to beat a GT)

nothing meant to be harsh about it, just a simple reminder...alot of people seem to think that there is no point in owning a V6 or in the V6 even existing, but this to me does sound like ragging on V6's

OK. I think he's looking at that statement from a performance package point of view. Im not into v-6's either. But in todays day and age a V-6 can stay with or beat any V-8 stang from 73 to the mid 90's! Within margin!

Very true guys! I don't know for sure but i really hope it wasn't! I know that you guys do not condone street racing but i couldn't help myself to 200 bucks. So yeah seems as though he couldn't hack it and i am 200 dollars closer to new heads . won't go into detail because again i know it isn't something that should be done but i figured everyone would want to know that i beat him by about 3 and a half car lengths!!

I was wondering about the outcome? I guess I was kinda surprised about how stout ppl say the V-6 is. I ran an 05GT convert 5-spd with only flowmaster's added to the 05 at the track and it was real close every time. The 1st time we met up and ran I had issues getting traction and he beat me 3-4, not by much though. Then about 2 weeks later we met again and I beat him 5-5, traction was much better. Now that was with my mods except the H-Pipe. This coming weekend track opens and I/we will be there.
My point was/is----- I didnt think the v-6 would be much of an issue since the GT didnt kill me.

The 6ers are rated right about the same as the 5.0s were in HP, they just lack a little torque and are heavier...don't underestimate the new 6ers.

Good kill! Don't condone street racing but since it already happened, D-tails please!

V6ers are always haing to hear about thier cars not being adiquite so they want to justify by running thier mouth about beating a V8 to say somehow thier V6 is equal if not better than the V8. Want to hear a really cocky underclass racer, a non-turbo supra driver, they think they are even a challenge against a V8 Mustang, when in reality they get slaughtered by V6 mustangs.

well since everyone seems so intrigued by the race heck why not go into detail. I got the guys # and i told him that if he really wanted to race that i was up for it. We met at around 1 am on the service road by my house.(no streets coming into the service road for 1/2 a mile so i figured safest place to run) We ran best out of three. First run we went from a dig and i got him by about a car length. 2nd run he wanted to go from a roll i wasn't agreeing but he started pulling that whole well your car is an 8 cylinder and mine is only a six crap so i did it and i got him by about half a car. third run and my favorite we went from a dig again and i actually didn't spin the tires for the 1st time i got a nice little chirp and launched power shifted second and got him by 3 and a half lengths
