v6 5-speed manual trans whine

I have a decent amount of tranmission whine around 3000rpm, almost truckish sounding. With the stock exhaust the whine was louder than the engine. If this typical?

Also occasionally hear a little clank sound when shifting into 2nd or 3rd gear, anybody have this issue also?

Does not sound like u-joints or loose mounts kind of clunk.

Only have 100 miles on the car, clutch feels fine, try to shift at 3000-4000 rpm.

Its a warranty issue ......

Take the Service Writer for a drive.

V6 mannys make noise. Take a few for a drive. The GT manny is much more quiet so you can spend $8k more to get a more quiet transmission by getting the GT.

It is a soothing whine. I helped my buddy put in an exhaust and you can't hear the whine any more because the exhaust is loud; too bad, i liked the whine. Again GTs don't make the whine.

The V6 definitely whines in the higher RPMs even in the auto. It sounds to me like it's the engine, not the tranny. *shrugs*

if you take it to the stealership and they tell you it's normal, which they may, try changing your tranny fluid to a full synthetic. There are several companies making a great trans fluid for the noisy Tremecs. It'll even shift better.

Yeah I'll be their worst customer if it does not get resolved....this car is a weekend ride for me so I can go without it and leave it there.

Eventually will go synth which I've done on all my old cars (rx-7 & 300zx) which seems to help cold shifting but I think the issue here is the drivetrain components not being in sync, light bad ujoints or out of alignment.

THERE IS NO WHINE NOISE IN MY 05 at any speed so make them fix it now. remember 3 times a charm and you get a new one.
