I used the search function for this question but couldnt find an exact answer or maybe I was just looking up the wrong phrase.

Anyways, does anyone happen to know if a v6 automatic AoDE is exactly the same as the v8 AoDE. Besides it having one less clutch. Specifically is the wiring harness exactly the same?

V8 swaps is common talk on the V6 tech forum.

http://www.sorscode.com/
This site has a list of parts needed for a swap. They have a 5sp though.

Ok, well thanks for the reply but the site you gave me, either I cant find the information or it doesnt answer the question.
The reason I ask this odd question is because I can get ahold of a 94 AoDE which I wanted to get rebuilt with high performance parts. Im hoping all the electric harnesses are the same so its just a basic bolt and plug in.

Anyone else happen to know this question?

I mean I sorta assume they are the same harness wise, would just like to hear some concrete evidence.

How much is the 94 aode? What parts are you going to upgrade? lmk. you might be better off buying a newer year tranny. Your going to need to replace a good amount of parts on a 94 aode compareed to a 99+ one.

Yes I already have a 2001 v6 automatic for donor parts. I read all about the 99+ v6 swaps for our cars, but since my car is a daily driver I cant have down time (or long down time). So Im hoping to get the 94 v6 to swap parts into (or swap wire harnesses out of) with out much downtime or murphy's law appearing.

Anyone know answer to previous question? Thanks!

All you need is the harnes, electronics, and the tail shaft housing from the 94. You should use the 01 tranny interanls, valve body, and tranny case. They are better and stronger then the 94 aode parts. I'm doing the same thing right now for my car.

V6 auto harness isn't the same... But I can convert it if need be let me know... I do it for free even the V6 5spd harnesses... All you have to do is pay shipping both ways.

There are only 2 different transmission harnesses inside the trans. Pre 97 are wire and 98+ are the hard plastic. The pinouts are different between the two. All you need to do is use the harness, shift solenoids, and the converter solenoid from the 94 inside the 01 for it to work. In 99 ford changed to some different styles for the computer.

SorsCode thank you for giving a straight answer on my question, I may even take you up on your offer.

BJL - Yes those three things I do need, but finding a donor v8 AoDE has been rather difficult. The reason for posting was to find out if I can widen my market by using a V6 AoDE.

Another reason for using the AoDE was the fact that it does not have the wide ratio gear sets. After reading much debate on the corral forums, it seems that using the wide ratio gear set, the computer does not lock up the convertor. That post was a year old though so maybe things have changed, but after searching I can not find a solid answer on whether a tweecer or custom burn chip will fix the lock up problem. Big Tony on corral forums says fordchips.com can fix it but I have not read any solid evidence on this.

It's all computer controlled the converter shift points ect. I have changed them with my tweecer. How much power are you wanting to put through your tranny? Have you read www.tccoa.com tech then tranny?

And are you talking about the harnes on the car? Or the one inside the tranny?
