v6 camaro vs v6 mustang

I doesnt really matter to me if you beleive it or not. I definatley downshifted and powershifted every gear. My car didnt have any mods, k&n filter if it even counts.

My Camaro was 160HP 200TQ stock (which mine was not, see mods above)
His Mustang was 190HP 225TQ stock (which his was)

All I was doing is stating what happened. We raced maybe 6 or 7 times and everytime I beat him. Your right, it doesn't matter now that I have my GT. I realized something, V6 Camaros (and V6 Mustangs) are great daily drivers, fun to drive, look real nice, but unless you wanna drop tons of cash, they will never be fast.

i said the " GT" statement to stump1000 but yes like you said my 95 6 cylinder is almost fine for a daily driver. it sucks gas since it went for a swim over a month ago and it still needs that damned ol rear o2 sensor. i can't wait until i get the 89 on the road/track

I find it amusing that someone in a pre-99 3.8 Stang would ever say those cars that make 200 hp and 225 tq are "dogs".

It is not uncommon at all for those "dogs" to run mid 15's..with some running quicker. Unlike the horrible Ford automatic that comes in the pre-99 years, having an automatic in the Chevy world really does not hurt you.

Way to many variables just to say X car should beat Y car. That is an easy to get your butt handed to you.

I have never raced my stang against my scort gt, but weight to hp/torque ratio my stang could lose, not sure though? I was pushing about 160 hp and torqe i'm not sure. I'd have to say though, the driver was flooring that car and was pretty pissed with his performance when I left him a cars lengh behind with an old school escort.

mustangs have better sets, they carrey a more traditional look, they have more style, they have all dics brakes,they have more magazines to choose from, they have more bang for the buck, and they are still being producted. the only muscle car GM makes is a grand am with a corvette engine at 30k and I could ta grand am and put a 5.7 and also call it a gto. But who knows maybe they will come back with the trans am or camaro. Who knows. Don't get me wrong GM was great but I don't like the direction it's going in. The one thing the camaro has over us is a t-top and maybe a little power but a tweak here and their and we're even.

5-speed 3.8L Mustang vs. 5-speed 3.8L Camaro = Driver's race....

PERIOD. Whoever wins is the better driver assuming both cars are mechanically sound.

Mustang has a few less hp, the Camaro has a few more lbs. GM auto's are better so the auto Camaro should win.
