v6 swap to v8

upgrading interior wiring for all the V8's accessories, GT cluster, tons more

I do currently have the quad shocks in there yes. An aftermarket the k-member isn't that hard to change out once the engine is out I would imagine. Are you sure that the k-member is different ? I suppose a trip to the Ford parts dealership would tell me for sure.
You can remove the quad shocks if you get a decent pair of LCA's, but you'll have to get an 8.8 GT/cobra rear axle, the motor mounts are a definate, you'll have to check the k-member
I don't want a cobra engine because everyone charges a premium for them. I'm really looking to do this in a very affordable mannor. I've kind of got a budget set for this project and it looks like I'm going to be able to meet it if I stick with a standard GT engine. It would be nice to get a Bullitt intake manifold but I don't think that is gonna happen any time soon.
you better find one hellofa cheap wrecked GT then
another option you can look at is a used lincoln mark 8 DOHC motor
I may buy an aftermarket K-member anyways because it improves all the steering linkage geometry and lightens up the front end thus improving wieght ballance. Any comments about stuff made by QA1 Motorsports ?

QA1 is good for the street and strip, not corner carving, nice company though

I have found some really good deals on a full conversion without the trans for under 2000 dollars and the trans is gonna end up costing between another 500-1000 dollars. I'm looking at geting almost everything I need for under 3000. If I can put it all together with the aftermarket upgrades for under 4500 dollars then I think I've done better then buying another car from a fiscal aspect.

I do have a GT 8.8 installed in the car already.

I've read up on this forum about the QA1 crossmember and I read a forum on.... either corner carvers or the corral... don't remember. It seems like if I got the QA1 and had a friend of mine help me fabricate a brace for it then it would never be an issue.

I think I'm gonna head to a Ford dealership and get some part number to confirm weather or not I really need to change that piece out. I can't imagine they would have made 2 different parts here, it would seem to be too costly for production to do it that way.

You really want a whole GT donor car, trust me on this it makes it a lot easier. Plus if you have a whole car you can use all the modules from the donor so you won't have to mess with communication issues. If you use modules from different cars you will need to reprogram the PCM and the ICM with as built data from the same GT...
