V6's use 8.8s?

Well doing a gear swap on my 95 and I find a bad axle... it'll be 80-120$ for a new one and i'd just as soon find one at a JY.... I know where there is a 98 V6, but would it have the same axle? Would it matter if it has ABS or not (mine doesn't). I know ABS has the magnetic wheel but is the length or any other critical dimensions different?

The sixes have 7.5's as I recall.

All v6er's have 7.5" rears on SN95 and new edge bodies... I'm not sure about foxes and S197's but I'd guess that they are different. Sorry bro.

some stuff that you can use from the V6 Rear end:
Axles
C-clips
Control Arms
ABS if equipped (rare)
Brake Setup (minus metal line that runs acrossed the rear)
Springs
Shocks
Sway bar

All that stuff is 100% the same.


Can't use:
Gears or Differential



I have a collection of Axles at home.. I'll goto a junk yard and ask for some out of a GT and get quoted 100 bucks for a set or 25 for the V6's. So i always by the V6 stuff I hord all kinds of getting hard to find 5.0L parts like wiring, input shafts, bellhousings, Brackets. Since these cars are a 2 year make. Other car with same parts engine wise (i know off topic ) is 91-93 T-birds with 5.0L engines.

only one place had a new one locally and they wanted $125 for one axle

junkyard one off the V6 car: $18

And they appear to be exactly the same, you rule .

I know it's a bit off topic, but are the housings the same and the guts different?

I know a few junk yards here with tons of 6er totalled, maybe I should look into those axles. Did they take them out for you or did you take them out?
